Sharp?s LC-20SH1U provides a slim, versatile televison solution. The LC-20SH1U uses a successful LCD panel, Sharp?s proprietary Advanced Super View/Black TFT panel, which provides high brightness, a high contrast ratio, low reflection glare protection and wide viewing angles. The LC-20SH1U also features speakers positioned below the LCD screen, making the TV much narrower and therefore able to fit in many places in the home. minimize

Strengths:

Narrow package, didn't burn down my house.

Weaknesses:

Poor picture quality, lousy warranty, crapped out after less than 4 months, limited connections, claims 181 channels but really only 125 on Cable. On-screen Menus are very limited.

Posted Apr 14, 2005 - Only 640 x 480 on a LCD this size is incredibly grainy. The color reproduction is adequate, but the color tends to be "noisy" (i.e. lots of areas where you see transitions that aren't smooth). The biggest problem was the warranty. After less than 4 months, I could no longer receive any channels other than 2 thru 4, 14 and 15, and 48 thru 99. All other channels were just static. The "authorized" repair shop confirmed the problem as a bad tuner but it is not field repairable. Tried to get Sharp to replace it, but they will only repair it. Unfortunately, they charge for labor after 90 days. Fifty dollars just to look at it! This gets applied to the final repair charge, but they want the money upfront before they'll even give you an RMA number! Can't believe they won't stand behind this product. We literally used this set 2 to 3 times a week for a few hours at a time for 4 months. So after 96 hours of use, it is no longer functional. Pitiful...
