TopStrengths: Good price, Good quality picture, Easy to setup and use.
Weakness: Not VESA wall mount compatible, included wall mount not very good. Sound from the TV's speakers is acceptable but I would nvest in good external speakers. Number layout on the remote sucks big time.
Over all I am very please with this TV. I think it is a very sharp looking TV with good features at a very reasonable price. Movies look real good on it and it's great having the TV up on the wall.

SVA 30" LCD TV - 16:9
Strengths: Picture quality, sound, styling, great value for the money
Weakness: When switching from one video input to another, there is a delay of about 4 seconds. Blacks have a slightly bluish cast. This is typical of many LCD televisions and monitors.
This is one of three SVA LCD TV's I own. I also have two VR-20 LCD TV's which were purchased a few days after receiving the VR-30.
SVA has no local dealers, therefore I had to order sight unseen. The picture quality was bright, clear and detailed. No, it is not as detailed as sets costing two to three times as much, but the picture is very, very good.
The things that I did not like about this television were: (1) Unused inputs could not be bypassed. You have to sequence through the entire list of inputs when changing signal sources. (2) The television takes five seconds to come on after the power button is pressed. (3) When switching from one video input to another, there is a delay of about 4 seconds. (4) Blacks have a slightly bluish cast. (This is typical of many LCD televisions and monitors). (5) The remote is cheap looking and has a sliding panel that has to be pulled down to access the numerical channel selector buttons, and four other controls. This was annoying. The VR-20 has a nice remote and I wanted to order an extra VR-20 remote to use with my VR-30. I was informed by SVA's customer service department that the VR-20 remote will not work with the VR-30 and vice versa. I confirmed this with in-house testing. In addition to the annoying pull-down panel, the VR-30's remote buttons also have a "spongy" feel to them. I am going to get a universal remote to use with this television.(6) The control buttons (volume, channel, etc.) on the television are virtually useless. The controls are tiny 1/8 diameter buttons located in a recessed area along the right outer edge of the television. People with larger than average fingers may have difficulty pressing these buttons. I just use the remote.
The cable television picture looked great right out of the box, and even better after calibration. When viewing 4:3 aspect material, the best picture quality is achieved by setting the television aspect ratio to 4:3. Using the television's stretch modes on 4:3 material causes a noticeable loss of detail and clarity. When viewing in 4:3 mode, the picture measures 25" diagonally.
The VR-30 comes with a complete set of audio and video cables (composite, component, PC monitor, s-video) and a wall mount plate. The VR-30 can be used as both a television and a computer monitor. I did not attach the VR-30 to a computer.
The owner's manual provides good basic setup and functionality information. Some sections of the manual could use more detailed explanations (for example, better explanations of all the inputs).
There were no digital artifacts when viewing fast motion scenes from either cable television or DVD sources.
I am very pleased with my purchase. The only apprehension I have is that SVA is not a well-known brand in the US and therefore the durability and reliability are not known at this point. I have read reviews on other sites (Amazon.com, etc.) that said that the SVA LCD panels are earlier generation panels sourced from Samsung. This is probably one of the reasons for its much lower price compared to 30" LCD TV's from other manufacturers.
