Glare/Reflection, Picture Adjustments,
Posted 4 months ago - After researching for about a year, I settled on this model, and so far, it has been a great decision. Took the time to fully go thru various websites to read reviews, and utilized CNET.com for in-depth info and specs. One thing that kept showing up in personal reviews was that people who bought LCD models ended up returning them for a plasma, and they were astonished at the difference in picture. No ghosting at all, even on SD cable channels. My father has a Sony Bravia 32" LCD and I have always thought the picture was average at best. Even HD channels leave something to be desired. But one of the biggest reasons to go plasma is the SD channel picture. I've had people tell me that they can't believe how nice the regular cable channels look on this unit. HD is incredible, just watch CSI Miami on this unit and you'll be blown away. This unit uses much less energy than previous Panny models and the unit just plain looks good. Not much of a fan of the anti-reflective screen though...Panasonic shouldn't kid themselves and customers about this feature, because glare can be an issue. The other feature touted is the THX setting...whatever. Not much difference there. You can get the same picture through the adjustments. Sound is ok, connections are good. The only weird thing I have noticed is that one time watching a DVD, the TV actually just turned off and within 10 seconds turned back on by itself. Did this 3 times, but hasn't done it since. Shipping was free and was actually 2 days early. Nice! Actually delivered on Saturday after calling ahead, and were right on time. Thanks to Beach camera for throwing in the free cables, which actually arrived the day before the TV.
