5 Star Review Zenith Z42PX2D 42" Plasma EDTV

Strengths:

Big screen compared to what we had. Plenty of connections on the back. Speakers sound good.

Weaknesses:

Makes our existing 4:3 movies look funny, wish they were 16:9 widescreen now. Barely fit in our vehicle to bring it home.

Posted Dec 16, 2006 - Couldnt ask for more from this plasma tv, got it at a great price, picture quality is awesome. Saw the LG model of this advertised recently for twice what we paid for this (the LG was EDTV too). Price was the deciding factor, could not pass it up, was actually an impulse buy. Didnt really care about it not being HDTV, we dont own anything HDTV anyways. Maybe in a few years we will be ready to upgrade everything to HDTV or whatever its called then. Right now we are extremely happy with this plasma tv.

5 Star Review Zenith Z42PX2D 42

Strengths:

Very light compared to a CRT, about 70 pounds. Plenty of inputs available. Speakers integrated, not required to have separate speakers, plus they sound great. Easy to use remote.

Weaknesses:

The shipping box is huge but that allowed for extra packing material to protect the screen.

Posted Oct 1, 2006 - Very nice tv for the money, was out the door with a brand new in box unit for under $875. We were not concerned that this was not a true HDTV as we have nothing that is capable for outputting an HD signal. Regular satellite tv looks great and we are blown away with the quality picture from a Playstation 2 and Gamecube. If you want a quality tv and dont care to spend more on an HD unit, pick this one up.

5 Star Review My First Plasma

Strengths:

Huge screen, tons of inputs, easily navigable menus, and great sounding speakers.

Weaknesses:

None so far.

Posted Feb 3, 2006 - This is my first plasma and im really impressed with it so far, ive seen a few samsungs and sanyos but they just couldnt match the price and performance of this plasma. Oh and the screen is made by LG which happen to make pretty nice screens. The speakres sound great with alot of options to configure the audio around so its very versatile, and also the remote is nice cause you can program it to control some of your other devices. All in all im very happy with my purchase.

5 Star Review Zenith 42" Plasma EDTV

Strengths:

Large size, clear picture with analog cable signal, Zenith name.

Weaknesses:

Slow to start up

Posted Oct 23, 2005 - I was in the market for a TV like this one about a year and a half ago. I did not buy it then because of the high price of large plasma TV's then. Now that the price has come down considerably, it has become affordable to purchase this quality for a good price. Zenith has a long history for a good quality television for the money. I was able to purchase this set for 1699.00 recently which is an excellent value for the size and quality picture. It was also brought to my attention when purchasing this particular TV that it has an interal filter which cleans up a direct analog cable signal. (That is what I have in my area). I have not been disappointed since the first time we turned it on and have watched many different cable channels and DVD's. The EDTV gives a very good quality picture for the price. I do not think you would notice much difference from the HDTV even if they were side by side. If you are in the market for a plasma and want quality for a good price, this is your TV!
