JVC LT37X776 LCD TV

Strengths:

Price, excellent picture, no ghosting & width... due to speakers mounted along the bottom edge makes it more narrow that a lot of models.

Weaknesses:

None so far.

Posted Jan 2, 2006 - This LCD TV has an excellent picture. We are watching it on MediaCom Basic analog cable in rural Alabama and it has a good picture on all channels. The best picture it has is when we watch our digital pictures on it. The detail is unreal. We have an XBox 360 networked to our home computer and watch all our digital pictures on this JVC unit and everyone just can't get over the vivid colors and detail of the pictures. Oh... did I mention the games on the XBox 360? They are stunning on this TV. All connections on the rear of the TV are well placed and marked very clearly. The remote has a lot of buttons but the are well marked and it is easy to use. I found the packaging to be a work of art also. The unit is well supported and padded to prevent damage from the factory. We purchased at H. H. Gregg for a few pennies over $2525.00 (including 8% sales tax) on a weekend special sale. We got the 37" JVC for $43.00 more than a comparable 32" Sony they had on the floor on sale too.

JVC 37

Strengths:

Very utilitarian, , great looks, wonderful picture and sound quality.

Weaknesses:

None.

Posted Jan 5, 2006 - A great LCD in a perfect 37" size for the master bedroom. A great compromise between a 32" and 40"! Simple, streamlined size with an attractive swivel base. Nice picture, great sound with bottom speakers. No drawn out, space wasting side speakers. Will be hanging on the wall. A real quality product at a competitive price. Simple controls, easy to navigate. Would definitely buy another when the prices go down a bit although this was somewhat reasonable. BUY FROM A REPUTABLE AUTHORIZED DEALER! I wasted 2 weeks waiting for the TV from a dealer that was unscrupulous and only wanted to sell extra service contracts. When I finally ordered from the reputable dealer, I received it within a week!

large picture in a small box

Strengths:

great picture relatively small size unit

Weaknesses:

Need to use one remote to turn on and separate remote to change stations for cable.

Posted Jan 20, 2006 - A large sharp clear picture in a set that does not overwhelm the room when you are not watching TV. Speakers are on the bottom not on the sides so set is only 37 inches wide. Picture is as good or better than any TV we saw in stores.
