Posted Nov 1, 2007 - Recently purchased a memorex iflip ipod video player. I'm so far happy with my purchase and found the unit a great addition for my ipod. Even though this is not the best of breed ipod video players I found it sufficient to my needs and enjoy watching the videos from my ipod now since I don't have to squint any longer.
The first thing that does stand out is the video quality. The video output is not that great. You see alot more of pixelation on the video that you are watching. I guess this is caused by the increasing of the ipod video to the screen. This really doesn't bother me as much as I'm still able to view and enjoy the movie that I'm watching. Your just not going to get that sharp dvd output quality you usually see from portable dvd players.
The video control is easy to use but doesn't let you adjust the video enough to correct the pixelation if you wanted dvd quality output. The unit is not super heavy nor light. Even though unit is compact definitely can't carry unit in your back pocket but rather in a case or backpack.
Battery life is good as I was able to watch 2 good lengthed 2hr+ ipod movies without recharging the unit. Would have been great if they included travel accessories with unit (case, car charger adapter).
Overall, unit does it's job and increases the ipod video to a more enjoyable comfort level.
