If you have an iPod mini you need an iTrip mini. The iTrip mini FM transmitter lets you play your iPod mini?s music wirelessly through any FM radio ? in your car, on the road, even at home through your stereo. The iTrip mini was designed exclusively for the iPod mini. Its form factor matches perfectly all the curves and lines of the iPod mini. It sounds even sweeter. iTrip mini gives you the best possible performance because you can choose any empty station from 87.7 to 107.9. Best of all you choose and change your iTrip mini stations directly from the iPod mini itself. The iTrip mini does NOT need batteries. It receives a tiny amount of power directly from the iPod mini ? saving you from wasting hundreds of batteries a year. That?s good news for the planet and even better news for your wallet. minimize

2 Star Review Don't Purchase

Strengths:

small, lightweight, white, fits nicely

Weaknesses:

poor audio quality, easy to loose, no screen

Posted May 22, 2006 - This is probably the worst ipod transmitter that is currenly on the market. Don't be fooled by the iTrip name; this product just does not live up to the hype. The audio quality is of very poor quality. I have tried numerous stations, but I keep getting terriable sound quality. Furthermore, the product worked decently for 1 week before it just refused to operate anymore. This may be due to the system updates your iPod's may be using. I would tell anyone who is looking for a good value and sound quality to stay away from this product. By a product that is of higher quality and has more feature. You will be glad you did.

4 Star Review i trip

Strengths:

easy to use

Weaknesses:

cuts out sometimesor or gets fuzy

Posted May 1, 2006 - this thing is very cool and incredibly nice to have for the i pod. dont turn sound on i pod to loud or sound quality will be fuzzy. sometimes it cuts out to. that happens to me but not very often. last time it happened was two months ago so periodically you might have problems with it. i would reccomend it because it is easy to use and if you want to listen without cumbersome headphones then it is just what you need especially for your car. the good outweighs the bad.

3 Star Review Good idea, but implementation is just adequate

Strengths:

Good integration with the iPod mini; looks nice

Weaknesses:

Changing frequencies is a pain; sound quality; drains the battery quickly

Posted Feb 14, 2006 - The iTrip is a good idea, but only a mediocre product. I know some people who have bought these, only to switch back to their old tape adapters. The good thing is you just plug it in and it works using the default settings. Changing FM frequencies is a royal pain, because you have to install a playlist that messes up your music library (I'm anal). The sound quality is kind of weak (between FM and AM radio quality), with slight interruptions of static in my car. The battery drains much faster if you broadcast like this, lasting maybe half the time of a full charge.

Strengths:

compact design, requires no batteries

Weaknesses:

drains the battery in 20 minutes, signal is too weak

Posted Dec 20, 2005 - this is seriously the most useless accessory available for the mini. especially for their 40 dollar price tag. the interface is lacking simplicity, signal is too weak to overcome distortion/static. battery life is significantly reduced bottom line: don't buy it, unless you have no other option. don't go fm transmitter if you want your ipod in the car, get a cassette adapter.

Strengths:

This is great for cars. It sounds exactly like the radio would, as expected. No bass signal loss.

Weaknesses:

Difficult to find frequency. Drains battery life.

Posted Mar 4, 2005 - I bought this product for driving in a big bus that only has a radio. It works great for that, i cant hear any static in there. But when i use it in my car, there's noticeable static like on a weak signal. In drained my batter a lot, like the life is about 3 hours as opposed to 6-7 hours. It works best with volume up around 75%.

Strengths:

Easy to use, install and fits perfectly

Weaknesses:

Posted Feb 14, 2005 - The griffin itrip mini is the latest for the ipod mini, it seems to be the only one that fits onto the ipod perfectly. I have only used it a couple of times, but it is great for the car. I have ordered a car holder and that will help to use while driving. It works great.

Strengths:

small, stylish and works very well.

Weaknesses:

none come to mind

Posted Feb 13, 2005 - Have had one for several months and just bought a second for my son who just received an ipod (mini) and wants to use it through his boombox/home stereo. Had previously tried the Belkin products and was very displeased with sound quality and backgroun hiss. This product is much better sounding and looking. Fits right on top of mini ipod and has same sleek lines. Product is a "winner"

Posted Jan 25, 2005 - Excellent. Worked as advertised, straight out of the box. Given, it's a little crackly at high volumes, but it's exactly what you'd expect from any standard radio station. Very much worth the money!

Strengths:

I am able to bypas using CDR's for my mp3's now! Before I had to burn $$ on burning discs for my car rides, but now this baby will eliminate that expense! It helps you get the charger as well

Weaknesses:

Havent had any as of yet. I have heard that you may face reception problems but none exist for me.

Posted Jan 2, 2005 - Great process and happy in the end. I see these 'pods' in future coming with this technology as standard....but for right now, the itrip gets the job done!

Strengths:

Design, Looks, Usability

Weaknesses:

Reception, FM Interfearance

Posted Dec 19, 2004 - I think this is a good product overall, the only problem is as you travel the previously empty FM station now gets a signal and causes interfearance with your transmission. I wish there would be a dial or something that would allow you to quickly change the setting on the itrip as well as the radio. But nevertheless it is a great product....

Strengths:

Incredible product, never been happier than listening to the music I want without having Satellite Radio. Must have if you own the iPod Mini.

Weaknesses:

Is not compatible with Speck's skin.

Posted Sep 19, 2004 - The iTrip Mini FM Trasnmitter for iPod mini is an absolute necessity, the sounds clear, it looks stylish, and doesn't drain the battery of your iPod. Well worth the money to add to your iPod accessoris.

Strengths:

Looks great, fits the ipod mini form perfectly. Small and doesn't add noticable weight.

Weaknesses:

Sounds good but not great...but can be expected coming from a FM signal. It is a must to find a station with no signal at all on either side of channel to get good reception.

Posted Sep 8, 2004 - The itrip mini is for sure worth the money spent. I really like the fact that it isnt bulky looking or out of place looking like the itrips for the regular ipods. Also, it isn't coupled with a lighter plug that requires you to be confined to using it in your car. The only people that wouldnt be happy with this product is those with a really good system in their vehicle because the sound quality isn't really close to cd sound...but for the regular joe with a factory system it works great!
