Attractive Protection for Your iPod Mini
great fit, protection for screen, translucent, thick enough to provide real protection
some users might find case thickness objectionable, why the circular cut-out in the back?
Posted Sep 6, 2005 - I bought this "skin" to provide some protection for my iPod mini, since I was afraid that it would eventually get scratched or nicked in use. It is easy to put on and is translucent, so allows the color of your iPod to show through. It also provides protection for the screen while still allowing you to read it. All connections are readily accessible. There is a cut-out in the front of the skin for the control "wheel". There is also a circular cut-out on the back (about 1-1/8" diameter)that allows the Apple logo to show through. I don't understand the reason for this, since you would still be able to see the logo through the skin anyway. The skin is about 1/16" thick, with some extra thickness at the front and back panels. It is thick enough to make you feel that it is providing real protection without adding much bulk at all. I have read other reviews which indicate that the iPod will not fit in the belt clip with this skin on. I do not use the belt clip, so I cannot comment on that. Because the skin is silicone, it has a grippy surface, which allows you to hold the iPod more securely. It also will not slide easily on a hard or smooth surface. Overall, a good no-nonsense product which performs its function well.
