3 Star Review F8V3080-APL TuneCast II FM Transmitter - Gray

starlitevixen - (August 09, 2004) I recently bought a Dell DJ. In order to be able to listen your music files while in the car or from a stereo (as opposed to only the headphones) a seperate accessory is needed-- either a cassette adaptor or an FM transmitter. Seeing as I don't have a cassette player in my car, I opter for the latter. This product, the Belkin Tunecast II FM transmitter, is the one compatable with my device accroding to the Dell website, however, it was priced at $34.99 at Dell.com. I shopped around a bit and was able to get a hold of it on consumerdepot.com for $19.99. The device is about 3.5 inches wide and 2 inches tall and black/gray in color. The package also includes an adaptor cord to plug into

GZD - (June 26, 2004) This is really a fine device. It is, however, a very - very low RF power output, (limited range). Because the antenna wire is inside the *very* short cord, wrapped with the sheilded ground, I was lucky to get it to transmit 4 feet. Almost fine for a car in the country but I want to send my PC MP3 audio to my backyard stereo, 20 feet. Took mine apart and I soldered a 27" length of wire to the PCB antenna pad and my range is now 35-40 feet, clean. Very legal, just voided my warranty. Even 7-12" of antenna length is an improvment if you are needing it to stay mobile. 22-27" hits a sweet spot if, like mine, it hangs on the back of a tower PC. 24 gauge fits nice in the circuit board through

5 Star Review Altec Lansing InMotion IM7 - It Rocks!

bjennings24 - (October 25, 2005) I looked at the Bose SoundDock and the JBL OnStage before buying the IM7. Everyone was raving about the Bose but I did a side by side sound test with both units at the Apple store and the IM7 had a bit more bass and the staging with the mids and highs sounded just as good as the Bose SoundDock. Factor in the price ($50 less than the Bose) and the portability element and the Altec IM7 has the Bose SoundDock beat hands down. Its a great deal for the money and if you register the warranty within 30 days of purchasing it Altec will offer you a 2 year weaanty.

5 Star Review This older IPD model is better?

Zepfanman - (11/24/2009) I haven't used any other transmitters, but I read a review on iLounge and am happy with the product. Almost as good as CD quality sound! I've read reviews about the newer IPU not having 87.9, so be careful if you don't buy that model.

1 Star Review Do NOT BUY from CELLGUYS

spirruccio - (11/03/2009) It simply does not work, I get static on all stations. They sent me a used iTrip with a photo copy of the manual. I have tried to contact the seller (Cellguys) but will not return any messages. Price Grabber is also no help at all. Do yourself a favor use Amazon and go with one of the respectable sellers. At least they back what they sell.

2 Star Review Great sound - questionable quality

speener - (09/24/2009) I really like the sound quality of this unit especially for the size and the price. The rechargeable battery gets 6 hours per charge easily. The remote works well, but won't allow you advanced features such as changing menus. The USB version does charge an iPhone, but you still get a nag screen saying it isn't compatible with iPhones. This would be a slam dunk if I weren't on my 3rd one. Altec Lansing doubled my warranty when I registered - good thing - my first one died after 6 months, refusing to play at times. The second one lasted about a year when it refused to play when plugged in, only playing from battery. Then it refused to play at all. Fortunately their customer service was pretty quick each time in sending me a new one.
