grnydldy2 - (August 26, 2005) This crock pot is way too hot. Even on the lowest setting everything I cook in it is burned in 3 hours. Contacting the company did not bring me any satisfaction. They did offer to "look at it" if I shipped it back to them and including the cost of return shipping which would have cost me an additional $32.

CMCM - (March 23, 2005) After reviewing virtually every slow cooker out there and visiting various stores to see things in person, I kept coming back to the Breville Slow Cooker because it looked interesting and different. Breville is an Australian/Canadian company, and their products aren't widely distributed yet in American stores. However, after seeing a Breville rice cooker (but not the slow cooker) in Macy's recently (only Breville product they had), and seeing how much nicer it looked than all the other brands I'd seen, I decided to order the 5.3 quart oval Breville slow cooker sight unseen from cooking.com. It arrived in about a week and was the most beautifully made slow cooker I've seen. Brushed chrome on

2 Star Review OK, but not necessarily a SLOW-cooker per se

bidermant - (September 23, 2005) I told my parents to buy me this slow cooker for my birthday just because it was the most expensive slow cooker on the market so I figured it would work. Now, the first time I cooked rice in this slow cooker, I followed a slow-cooker recipe and instead of adding 1 cup of water to a cup of rice, I added 2 and cooked it on a low setting as suggested for 6-8hrs... WELL, good thing I was home because the rice was ready in 3hrs, in 3hrs, the fire department would have to turn off my slow cooker :( Even though I can return the product, I decided to give it another try. What I found is that I would not trust this product with any recipe until I tried it. So, what you have to do is bas

1 Star Review TOO HOT!

nudawn - (12/01/2009) THIS CROCK POT GETS WAY TOO HOT FOR PROPER USE. ON THE LOWEST SETTING IT OVERCOOKS ANYTHING I PUT IN IT WITHIN A COUPLE OF HOURS. I WAS SHOCKED TO LEARN MY MOTHER AND MY BEST FRIEND HAVE THE SAME CROCKPOT AND HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I WOULD NOT RECOMMED THIS PRODUCT AND FEEL IT WAS A WAIST OF MY MONEY.

1 Star Review rival crock pot

cheil454545 - (11/30/2009) my rival crockpot gets very hot which i believe resulted in my removeable crock cracking,it has not broken but looks like it could any time. talked to a customer in a store and she said she had the same problem. called the rival company and got zero satisfaction. would not buy rival again. my daughter has a similar hamilton beech pot and it is fine.

1 Star Review Another Bad Experience with All-Clad Slow Cooker

kburt949 - (11/06/2009) I purchased the cooker in May of 2008 and used it approx. 8 or 9 times over the last 16 months until it quit working. I emailed All-Clad who replied with a list of service centers and sent the cooker off to be repaired. With S & H the cost would be approx. $130.00. My cooker is not being repaired. I agree a product that cost $179-199.00 should have a longer warranty and work longer before needing repairs.
