I called to verify a product was in stock and they assured me it was. After I placed my order online, they emailed me asking to "verify my address". Turns out this is just a scam to have their sales people try to get you to buy more things. When I called them they told me my item was not in stock and that it was "on a ship" and that the only way I could get my item was if I paid $200 more for the "US" version that they, surprise, do happen to have in stock. Seems like many of these photo companies practice this deceit regularly. Maybe B&H is the only reputable name out there right now..... |

This place is a scam. I ordered a digital camera then they called to verify order. But, what they wanted to do is sell me a bunch of over priced items which I did not buy. Then they said I ordered a foreign camera and it would cost another hundred dollars to get USA model. I canceled order. I purchased products online for 15 years this is the worst I ever seen. |

website says, instock for past week but they still haven't shipped what i have ordered. I called before ordering to very availability, minutes after placing order item became unavailable, right after I said "I will not buy anything more that what i have ordered"... Upselling at its best... |

Upcharged for a non-existant part -- called to complain and was told I ordered a non-USA model which had a twenty minute battery -- A Total LIE !!!! I went to the Sony website and then back to check out the advertisement link I originally went through -- no mention of anything stating it was a Non-USA product. Website says 5% restocking they wanted to charge 15% +++ no way I will cut my losses now |

BAIT AND SWITCH. I ordered a Samsung LCD television model LN40A750. The website said brand new with USA warranty. I received an email to call and confirm the order. I was told what I ordered was the "European" version and this was a "Grey market" product. If I wanted the "USA" version I needed to also order the "stand accessory" at an additional several hundred dollars. Otherwise what I ordered would be 220V and in PAL format. I could find nowhere on their site where the "USA" version was listed. I canceled the order. This is definitely a merchant to avoid at all cost!!! |

My thoughts so far is that they placed the item I wished to purcahse on their site at a price they had no intention of selling it for. After I ordered, I was instructed to call them so that they could verify my order and offer me accessories that I might be interested in. I sent an email explaining that I just wanted my item. They called me and asked me to return their call. This time I did call and left a message explaining that I did not wish to speak with a sells rep who would attempt to sell me more items and could they please just send me what I had ordered. I got an email saying my order had been processed followed by an email saying that the item was out of stock. I followed the link to cancel my order. I was directed to a site that asked for my last name and zip and when entered it would not cancel my order. I emailed them to cancel my order and am awaiting a response. The item is still displayed on the site as "In Stock" even though they told me it was not. |

I ordered a Panasonic DMC TZ5 camera @ $179. The next morning I received a phone call asking if I really wanted the Japanese (all manuals and menus) version. The English version is available for $120 more. I cancelled the order. NOTE--The description of the camera and the price shown nowhere say that this is a non-English version. In my opinion this is classic bait-and-switch! |

A complete sham. received emails requiring confirmation of my billing address. this was a ploy to sell more stuff. The price quoted on the website was not honored. Canceled my order when they tried to raise the price from $252 to $340 for a US Camera. These guys don't deal straight. |

"This place is a complete 100% scam. I ordered a Nikon Digital camera as it was the lowest price for the same item. I got an email to call them and I knew they would try to up sell me, but that was OK.I declined all the options, and then he said "do you want the US model or the import?" I asked for the difference and he said the import written instructions and touch screen instructions were in Japanese!! The US model which costs more were in English! I told him this was a scam as it never said that. His reply was "this is an import company!" I had called the company before ordering to make sure I got the same accessories as I would if I bought it retail and the salesman said yes! Did not say it was in Japanese. I cancelled the order promptly!" |

I placed an order on a gps unit at a great price. I was immediately called by a sales person who aggressively tried to sale me several expensive options such as warranties, maps and rechargable batteries. When It became obvious I would not give in to this harrassment a short time later I was notified the product was out of stock. Obviously it was only available at the low price if you bought all the extras |

After placing order, I was emailed to call to "verify billing info". So I called and was told that I had to pay an extra $200 for a stand/mount or the LCD TV I ordered would be "useless". So apparently they remove the manufacturer's stand from the box and attempt to sell it back to you. Makes me doubt that they even have the TV in stock when the would not complete the order until I "choose an option". I told them to cancel the order. |

I tried to order a Garmin Nuvi 755t from Prestige Camera. I received an email from them to call and confirm my billing information. I called the number listed and was subjected to a litany of Do You Want questions. My responses below: Q: This comes with the 2005 maps. Do you want to upgrade to the 2008 maps? A: No, thank you. It comes with current maps. Q: Do you want the stand with that? A: No, it comes with the stand. Q: Do you want to extend the warranty? A: No thank you. Q: Back to the maps, this one actually comes with the 2006 maps. Do you want the 2008 version? A: This comes with current maps. If it doesn't, Garmin has a promotion to update the maps for free. Q: Oh, you want that one. That one is 499. Do you want to upgrade to that. A: That is a bait and switch. Q: You mean a switch and bait. No it's not. They are two different packages. A: Then just cancel my order. Needless to say, looks like Prestige Camera is just another bait and switch company. |

At first I had a hard time with this company because they told me that my item was in stock when it turns out the lens was discontinued! So after a week, I receive the a different lens which at first they told me was more expensive and I'd have to pay more for. Which I refused to do. When I get the lens, I attach it and it does not autofocus. I return it and get a new lens and that one also does not autofocus. I assume the camera itself is defective or I just got 2 bad lenses. I returned everything for a refund and they still charged me a restocking fee and I had to pay for shipping back. I will never use this company again. |

price is good if you want something that is from japan and is only warrented in japan and all in written in japan, so when you think your ordering a USA model they will email you to call to confirm your order THEN tell you the camera is all in japanese and if you want the USA model (of couse who would want something they could read!) the price then is more than if you purchased at walmart or target, unreal, don't order from them totally misleading! |

This is the second time to cancel an order I placed online with this outfit. The reason is that they play a game to get you to buy accessories from them that you should not need. They send an email asking you to call to verify your address and when you call, they say that the battery that comes with this camera will not work more than 10 minutes and you need to by another batter which we will sell you at a great discount... You get the idea..! In a previous order, it was the projector's lamp that comes with this model is a demo one that has a 30 minute life time and they would sell me the 2000 hour one for only $----. |

Price listed was 303.00 After they made me call to verify the order they told me that the item listed was in different language and did not come with software or any of the factory items that were supposed to come with it and to get thoes items and in english I ended up paying 90 dollars more. 389.99999999 I Will NEVER Shop here againBe Warned they are scam artists |

CON ARTISTS...would not honor price as listed...tried to convince me that 100's of dollars worth of accessories are "absolutley necessary if I want this GPS unit to work." The guy got very rude when I told him I couldnt afford the extras and then refused to cancel my order. Never again! |

I ordered a refurbished American market ZR-800. The company notified me that this was a Japanese Language version, but that they would be happy to charge me more for the American market version new. I went back to the website and there is no indication on what I order that this was anything other then an American Market version. I consider their website to have false product advertising and abhor their bait and switch techniques. |

I am spending my time on this review in hope that internet community will make this SCAM CENTER go away. My review is inline with previous reviews and is influenced after trying to place two orders with this place one for digital camera and one for TomTom navigation system. This place operates under a clever scam model. They publish a low price online, make you place an order with your credit card. After the order is placed you will receive an email to call back with no explicit explanation of the problem. A call back typically involved at least 10 min on hold until you get a sales rep who then tries to up sell you something to compensate for the advertised low price of your main purchse. After you definitively decline, they tell you that your order has been processed. Several days later you receive email that the item you have ordered is out of stock⦠|

Prestige misrepresented the camera I wanted to buy (Canon xti) so that customer is attracted to order the low proce model, but then over the phone is told that (in my case) the LDC language is in Japanese and no battery is provided. The price difference between original order and necessary changes? $250. FALSE ADVERTISING |

After delaying my order for 3 weeks, I was told the product was not available for 2-3 more weeks. The website showed the product "availabe in stock". Customer service calls were very slow (15-20 min. on hold)and the order was cancelled at my request. Prestige Camera maybe a fraud. |
