mlmckenzie - (September 06, 2004) When they say this printer makes photo-lab quality prints, they're not kidding. I've been amazed by the printouts. People I've shown them to cannot believe that it was from a digital camera (I use a 5 mega-pixel camera) and printed at home rather than the traditional film camera and photo lab processing. The prints come out sharp. The coating on the photos is nice and clear. The coating doesn't hold fingerprints when you touch the photo, which makes handling them pretty carefree. The thumbnail feature is nice, even when you're printing from a computer. My only disappointment is that they say on the box that you can print wallet-size prints. The driver for Windows XP only allows you t

gatorrock - (June 01, 2004) I have been using this printer in my genetics lab for over 2 months now and can say this is the best printer I've seen at a consumer level. The print quality of this machine is hard to beat. We print pictures of cell organelles to full people on this printer, using 2 megapixel microscope cameras up to the 13.89 megapixel Kodak DNS camera- the print quality never fails to impress. And when we use the high gloss photo paper, you would think we sent it to a photo lab. This printer is not without faults mind you, it does have a nasty habit of setting itself as the default printer. So you have to check that setting pretty often (but this maybe be a network issue). It also has it's own

princedavis - (August 29, 2006) I have been using this printer for the past 6 months or so, and I have mixed feelings. It is easy to set up and install, but it is somewhat slow to boot (the HP this printer replaced was ready in a few seconds -- the MP830 takes about a minute to boot up). Once you get the printer set up and begin printing text and photos, it is easy to see why this printer has been so well reviewed. Text is sharp and photos on Canon's photo paper are virtually perfect. The unit also has duplex copying/scanning/printing. When it comes to features and print quality, this unit is most definitely 5 stars, however there a few issues with this printer that greatly restrict its utility. For one, the unit is

Excellent Printer for the price and performance!
kumarram - (11/28/2009) I bought the printer during black friday deal from Staples. It took me less than 15 min to set up and print the first page. WiFi connectivity works very well. Not sure about longevity of ink cartridges.

kenrneal - (11/28/2009) Be very careful in buying this Printer. If you use any specialty paper such as Avery Business Card or Mail Labels, Kodak does not support them. The auto paper detect feature will not recognize the paper and will reject it. If you can get it to print by selecting plain paper, it will not print all columns nor in the proper alignment. Multiple phone calls and emails to Kodak (India) have not resulted in a solution. I have tried multiple “Paper Type” with the same results. Very frustrating. I will be returning this printer.

Nice quality, but poor scanning
rrsin - (11/25/2009) My first laser printer, but 4th HP printer. Everything worked great until about the 3rd or 4th upgrade of OS 10. First lost the ability to scan from the computer, but was able to initiate the scan from the printer itself. But, after a subsequent update, also lost that ability. Print quality is good, but can not print on thicker paper, as ink smears.
