5 Star Review Photosmart 425 Gogo Photo Studio Printer and Camera

Strengths:

Very clear and distinct picture quality from both the camera and the printer.

Weaknesses:

I think it would be nice to be able to print 5X7 as well as 4X6 photos.

Posted Feb 24, 2006 - I got this for a Christmas present this year and love it. I took some picture of our new house to work the other day and 2 girls liked the quality of the pictures so much that they are going to buy the same thing I have. Great Product. But then I figured it would be!!!

5 Star Review This Camera Does Everything

Strengths:

The indoor flash brightens the dimmest areas. You can take pics indoor with great clarity & colors, that you'd never be able to with many non-digital cameras

Weaknesses:

The batteries, although they recharge through the printer, they won't allow lengthy photo snapping sessions, especially if you use the video feature.

Posted Oct 3, 2006 - I am SO surprised how great this camera set is. I purchased it for a great price at Amazon recently and thought that the battery-recharging ability, the hook-up to TV to view pics, the photo/printer "station", and the fact that I've seen good reviews for it, made it a good choice, but I was expecting to find problems in picture quality. So far there are none. It takes great flash pics.... 13" large pics taken in low light interior rooms have no graininess. Indoor settings often look more colorful & better looking then they do in reality, with this camera. Flattering & bold colors. I was surprised that I was able to hook it up to the TV to view pics, with not having a recent model of TV (mine is a 1995 model), but I was able to connect it thru my VCR's Video/Audio Input ports. The pics look GREAT on TV, and allows you to select the "keepers" without the hazzle of turning on computer. The flash, on automatic, will work whenever needed with no adjustments, same as all the camera settings automatically adjust to take great pics, but I find I prefer little less flash and other adjustments, as in shutter settings, when I am taking photos of people, in order to play-down appearance "flaws" and to get a little LESS clarity. Thats how GOOD this camera is....it shows so much detail. Even without image & color "fixing" done on your computer (with the included software), the pics come right out of the camera with brighter hues than they have in real life. Mainly, image "fixing", accomplished on the computer, isn't needed with this camera, unless you want to do something special, or to tone down the bright colors & details on "inperfect" looking people, or for cropped pics. I am very satisfied with this camera. It does need a separately purchased memory card, unless you don't take many pics at a time, and the batteries will need recharging after a few pics (around 20, depending on various factors). This process can take nearly 24 hours, so the best solution is to have a set of 2 rechargeable lithium batteries on stand-by, charged, or alternate with 2 alkaline batteries (dont use alkaline & lithuium at same time). I haven't tried alkaline batteries, and would expect poorer flash & colors if using an inexpensive alkaline battery.

4 Star Review Good system with weak battery

Strengths:

Nice camera with printer for the price range (below $150 paid).

Weaknesses:

Battery is AA type which does not last long.

Posted Dec 27, 2006 - The camera takes good pictures with clear resolution and color truethness. It is light in weight, so it does not feel solid. But I don't see any problem with its quality. The printer has small foot print and very easy to use without a PC. You can print different sizes as well, including passport size. It takes long time to charge batteries with the charging system included in the printer. I bought a battery charger just for this.

4 Star Review Instant HP Photo Studio bought for parties

Strengths:

High Quality Pics. Easy to Operate. Very portable. Brand Name. 4X6 Photo Paper is not expensive. Instant Pictures that Instantly dries (no smudging).

Weaknesses:

The LCD display on the camera is small and poor. There is no black ink in the printer, just color. The construction of the digital camera is fragile.

Posted 2 months ago - I purchased this Hp Photosmart 425 photo studio + 5.2 mega pixel digital camera about 1 month ago. Right out of the package I noticed that the digital camera felt light and fragile. It truly feels like if you were to drop it, just once, it will definitely break. The LCD display is very small and not clear at all. After taking a couple of pics, I took a look on the camera's lcd screen and was not impressed at all. I thought the pictures were of poor quality. Never the less, I proceeded to print just to try everything out. To my surprise, the pictures came out clear and crisp! The 5.2 mega pixels really showed. Thankfully it did not come out anything like what the lcd screen on the camera showed. I like the fact that it uses 4x6 size photo paper and not a cheesy miniture, odd size photo paper. I especially like the fact that the pics dry instantly....within seconds! The mini printer comes with a carrying handle like a boom box which makes it very portable and safe to carry. There is less of a chance of dropping it having a handle like that. The printer is made well and shows it's HP brand quality. So far, I have printed about a dozen pics and the ink still seems to be going strong. Not sure how many pics you can actually develop before having to replace the cartridge. Lastly, to my surprise, this printer does not have a black cartridge. All it has is a tiny tri-color cartridge. Honestly, it really doesn't make a difference to me. The blacks come out very close as a very, very dark brown. If you don't tell someone that the photo does not have any black in it, they would never notice.
