4 Star Review Awesome printer for the buck

Strengths:

Fast, reliable, networkable printer with duplexing. This Brother HL seemed to fit the bill perfectly

Weaknesses:

None

Posted Dec 26, 2006 - It is really fast, and prints jobs quickly with little or no delay, quality output and works with a wireless router. Prints double-sided, which helps save paper. Setup was a breeze with no complaints.

Posted Feb 26, 2007 - best printer of the 12 I've owned. Wish I would have bought it long ago. Added memory was a good move. Very Quick and duplex is great. I really am very happy with this printer and may consider a color brother laser.

5 Star Review Excellent Printer for short money

Strengths:

Good speed, price, print image

Weaknesses:

Worth buying the additional memory

Posted Jan 30, 2007 - Brother printers are the most underrated printers on the market. Brother price and performance together with competitive consumables makes this a top notch printer. The additional memory is worthwhile as it reduces reliance on spooling for longer documents. Great for yeoman office jobs

4 Star Review Fast and Versatile

Strengths:

Duplexing, network ready, fast

Weaknesses:

More paper curling than the HL-1440 I had before. Envelopes come out wrinkled.

Posted Jan 13, 2007 - Overall, I am delighted with this printer. Print speed is fast and the auto duplexing is extremely useful to me: I frequently print out long informational documents for clients, and this printer makes it a breeze. Setup of the second paper tray was a mystery until I called Brother product support and they told me how to do it: you have to go to Printers and Faxes from the start menu, right click on the printer, and select Properties then Accessories. As far as I can tell this is nowhere in the supplied documentation. As mentioned above, paper comes out more curled than with my previous Brother laser printer, and envelopes come out a little wrinkled (also not a problem with the HL-1440). Despite these relatively minor weaknesses, I would recommend this printer.

5 Star Review A very good laser, excellent price and excellent features

Strengths:

Ports: Network, USB, Parallel 30 Pages Per minute (ppm) YES it is this fast. Does not take any CPU for page rendering Full DUPLEX !!!

Posted Aug 2, 2007 - Wow this is fast. Someone had a problem putting on the second tray, but if they did then they need to go back to high school. The setup is extremely easy. Make sure you open every door and drawer to get the little bits of tape out which is put there for shipping purposes. I added the 256MB RAM and this thing prints and powers down the motors faster than I can print pages off the web. I'm very pleased.
