Good MFC machine
Auto document feeder, good software, solidly built
Ink cartridges are expensive to replace, won't function w/o cartridges installed
Posted Jan 26, 2007 - This is a good MFC. I used it to scan my research files thru the ADF, which totalled at least 3000 pages. No problem at all, and I was able to turn several boxes of paper into 2 gb on my hard drive. It's as well built as you can expect in a $100 MFC. I'd prefer more metal, but then it would be heavier and costlier. My only real beef with the machine is that it will not function without cartridges installed. I wanted to just install the black cartridge in order to preserve the color cartridges, since I have no intention of printing in color anytime soon. It's all or none, though.
