Make ordinary projects extraordinary with the Epson CX7400, the all-in-one that always delivers amazing results - from plain paper documents to beautiful borderless photos. And, whether you print color or black-and-white documents, there's no need to compromise speed because the CX7400 delivers both up to 28 ppm. Best of all, you don't need to wait for an available computer to get started. Print brilliant color photos right from your memory card or camera. Or, make sharp color copies. Do it all - PC-free. With Auto Photo Correction, you're sure to get perfect photos automatically. Best of all, each print is made to last. In fact, prints from the CX7400 resist fading up to six times longer than those from competitive models, so you can print all your important documents with confidence. You can even preserve treasured photos and documents electronically with high resolution scanning. And, if you need to make a quick color copy, do it with one touch. Or, make multiple copies quickly and easily. It's all right at your fingertips with the Epson CX7400. minimize

1 Star Review AWFUL PRODUCT RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strengths:

Nice looking.

Weaknesses:

ALL INK LEVELS go down VERY VERY FAST even if print in B/W ONLY. LOUD and VERY SLOW. The machine has to "think" a long time before it prints.

Posted Mar 24, 2008 - I purchased the Epson CX7400 in Dec 07. The indigo, magenta and yellow ink cartridges are $13 apiece in the BX and the black ink is almost $20.00 I set my computer to print ONLY in black and white!!!!!!! and yet within 20 pages of print had to replace the yellow and red cartridges. WHAT!!! I called Epson (562) 276-4382 and asked WHY my colored ink was going down when I wasn't printing in color? The Epson rep said the printer "uses a little color" EVERY time you print even if just black and white. That PHD who wrote a previous review was CORRECT. I told the rep "A LITTLE COLOR" it used up ALL my YELLOW AND RED and my blue is half full. My black was only a quarter gone. This rep SENT ME FREE OF CHARGE 10 ink cartridges (2 red, 2 blue, 2 yellow, 2 black) without my even asking. THAT FOLKS TELLS YOU EPSON KNOWS THEY HAVE A LOSER. I started over with 4 BRAND NEW INK CARTRIDGES and COUNTED EXACTLY how many copies I got from each color PRINTING ONLY IN BLACK AND WHITE. I reached 105 copies before the black ink went out NOT the 300 promised by the Epson rep. In fact although the PREVIOUS print job levels had RED FULL and YELLOW at the half way mark, blue just slightly gone and black almost empty, when I printed the next page THE RED, YELLOW AND BLACK INK levels indicated EMPTY!!!!!!!!!!!! I replaced the black ink with one of the ones the company sent and just took the red and yellow ink cartridges out and put them back in because there was NOTHING wrong with them. When I printed the next copy, LOW AND BEHOLD the RED was now a 1/4 down and the yellow down to within a 1/4 from bottom and Black was of course full and blue down about a 1/4. My old HP color printer NEVER did this. As soon as EPSON opens today, I am calling them and I WANT MY MONEY BACK. THEY CAN TAKE THEIR FREE INK CARTRIDGES and shove them because unless they plan on supplying me with free cartridges for the rest of the life of this printer, it is NOT worth it. What a RIP OFF! P.S. You all are going to think this is CRAZY but I SCAN all of my tax receipts (back-up) and some of the receipts are yellow or blue or some other color. I did NOT print-just scanned a colored document. When I went to print the so-called "yellow colored" scanned document in BLACK AND WHITE, the yellow ink level FELL more than a 1/4. RUN RUN RUN FROM THIS PRINTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1 Star Review Do not waste money on this printer.

Strengths:

Fast printer

Weaknesses:

Uses up all your ink even when you're only using black, will not print even if only one of your cartridges are empty.

Posted 1 year ago - The company is trying to win money by tricking their customers. The printer uses up all ink just to print out black and when one of you're cartridge is used up, the program links you directly to buy new epson ink cartridges. They even say that you should not buy ink from other brand because it might lower the quality of your printing which is total bull, because they just want you to buy from them.

4 Star Review Good all in one printer

Strengths:

Scanning results are clear and printing is crisp. Seperate ink cartridges

Weaknesses:

kind of loud

Posted Nov 26, 2007 - For the price, I'm pleased with the printer. After scanning sevearl items from documents to pictures, I find that output to be great. As far as printing is concerned, text is clear and crisp and pictures come out sharp. Although there is a quite function, I find that the printer is fairly loud when it starts up to print (actually scared me the first time as it sits on my desk)

4 Star Review Good All in one printer.

Strengths:

Speed, ALL IN ONE PRINTER, Reasonably priced. flatbed scanner

Weaknesses:

Big size, heavy but this is all in one printer.

Posted Nov 11, 2007 - I have been using this printer since last month. This is one of the good Epson printers. Installation is very easy, so is the software. Scanner also works without any problems. We only have to replace the color that runs out. Print quality is great and prints faster. Another nice feature is that we can print right from the memory card or camera. It prints color and black&white at the same speed. Usb Cable is NOT included. I recommend this printer for personal use in a home.

4 Star Review All-In-One Value

Strengths:

Speed, Size, Individual ink cartridges

Weaknesses:

Loud

Posted Nov 10, 2007 - Very good value for the money, when purchased with a rebate. One ink catridge for each color - only replace the one that is empty. Very inexpensive non-OEM ink available. Once again, a printer sold without a USB cable. Overall, have been very pleased with Epson products in the past, and would recommend to anyone.

4 Star Review Great price, great printer

Strengths:

Fast, cheap, does everything

Weaknesses:

No lcd screen

Posted Nov 12, 2007 - A great, inexpensive all-in-one printer - Paid $70 for it and does everything from photocopying to scanning to printing out photos. It's fast, box claims that it does up to 28 ppm in black and white on draft mode. In practice, does about 10 ppm in "text" mode and the text is crisp and clear. Ink isn't cheap--runs you about $45 for replacement for all 4 tanks. There's also a rebate for $70 back (makes the printer free) if you buy it with a PC or digital camera.

4 Star Review Epson CX7400 PRINTER

Strengths:

Up to 28 ppm black/color text Built-in Memory Card slots Front PictBridge-Direct camera connection Multifunction Individual Black Cartridge 4" x 6" border less photo in as fast as 27 seconds

Weaknesses:

4 individual ink cartridges-Have to buy individual cartridges for printing in color...more cost. USB cable not included..... Bit heavy. Have to be networked using Print Server-Expensive

Posted Oct 25, 2007 - Overall a good printer to own.Have been using it for over an year now.Prints good specially black and gray scale prints.Color prints are average and justifies the cost.Scanning documents is easy with the software provided. One touch Operation.Good DPI settings for scanner. Easy to print pictures from external media. Most cameras work fine.My Kodak camera worked flawless. Had to buy USB cable. You can buy one for as less as $0.92 from ebay or pc connections.Only regret is that you need to buy individual cartridges for color prints.Bit expensive on inks. The inks last for a while, but not as compared to other printers in the range.I usually use it for black and white and gray scale printing. I used a HP print server with it and it worked well.Overall a good printer to buy. The top loading feature woorks well for me.

2 Star Review This product is a RIPOFF!!

Strengths:

Very sleek look, prints rather quickly, reasonable price (especially with the rebate)

Weaknesses:

Product is loud, ink is a ripoff

Posted Jan 22, 2008 - While this printer works fine, it also comes with FOUR different colors of ink and even if you just print in black text, it still uses all FOUR colors. Once ONE of them is empty, the printer WILL NOT PRINT, even if you force it to print in black ink only. I

4 Star Review good AIO printer

Strengths:

fast print speed, AIO

Weaknesses:

for casual use only

Posted Nov 14, 2007 - The ink consumption seems normal so far, unlike the CX6000 I had before. Does not have a lcd screen, but do have a memory card reader. PC free copying is very convenient, overall a good casual use AIO printer.

1 Star Review NO USB Cable !!

Strengths:

look

Weaknesses:

no usb

Posted Mar 8, 2008 - I am happy to hear good things about this producs. ALAS! did not get to use it yet... IT DOES NOT COME WITH A USB CABLE! Reviews I read before (not on this site) did not say anything about a mising USB cable. I should have read the note on the box before buying it. In which case I probably wouldn't have. Believe me I am not opposed to buying the cable, its just the inconvenience. Here I am ready to print and now have to make a run for the cable. Imagine buying a digital camera with out a USB cable or a laptop without one. From a short term profit point of view, this makes sense for Epson. But from a customer lifetime value perspective, probably not. I will buy a cable this time, but not sure if I will consider Epson products in the future, I am skeptical to recommend to others as well. I will write about the product's performance once I actually get to use it.

3 Star Review Epson CX7400

Strengths:

Nice Printer.

Weaknesses:

catridges..

Posted Nov 30, 2007 - Like the printer. I would recommend for any user provided they should be able to get the rebate mentioned. This is because sometimes the camera gets held up and we keep on waiting and one may not be able to send in the MIR since 30 day buffer must have passed.

4 Star Review Good quality copier in an all-in-one printer

Strengths:

Reasonable footprint, design, ease of use

Weaknesses:

Like all the all-in-one printers you are better off getting a dedicated photo printer if you want vivid and vibrant photos.

Posted Nov 11, 2007 - I use this all-in-one printer for basic copy needs. I have a laser and a photo printer that I use for most of my printing needs. This item fills the gap for the occasional copy of documents like rebates, applications, receipts, etc. It's a hassle traveling to Kinkos for a few copies. This item will not do for bulk printing, but for the occasional use, it will do fine. As of today, I've only use it for black and white copies. Due to the current rebate offer of $75 (the cost of the printer) this item is a good purchase. Also, there is a card reader that I may use to print low quality 4X6 photos(no need to use the expensive ink in my photo printer). Overall, I recommended it, but do not expect it to do all your printing needs well.

4 Star Review very good, esp price

Strengths:

has copy, print, and scan functions. look very cool. black color. and print is very fast. I like this printer even thought it is not a laser. ink is seperated carts per color.

Weaknesses:

none so far. may be ink is pricey.

Posted Nov 10, 2007 - I like this printer because of the cool look. There are multi functions for only one unit, except the faxing. but faxing will cost more, like model CX9400, costed around $150.

4 Star Review CX7400

Strengths:

Relatively cheap ink. All in one setup.

Weaknesses:

No usb cable. I wish the design could be slightly compact.

Posted Nov 9, 2007 - Overall. This is a very good buy. Printer is cheap and Epson is giving a good rebate on the printer. I expect this printer to perform and should not give any issue. Comes with memory card reader and it even support SDHC.

1 Star Review Ink runs out FASTER than any printer Ive owned

Strengths:

good print quality, decent purchase price

Weaknesses:

The ink is a rip-off and if one cartridge runs out, you can't even use black-only

Posted 3 weeks ago - At first sight, the price is attractive, but the ink is a total SCAM!!! I've replaced the ink 2x in the last year and we barely do any printing!! I am SO MAD at Epson for putting such a cash cow out there. WHAT YOU SAVE UPFRONT, YOU WILL PAY BACK TO THEM 10X IN INK!!!
