A must have!
Low $193 shipped price as of now. Generates less heat while giving better than X2 4200+ performance at stock, and overclocks to the moon!!
Stock cooler is inadequate if overclocking or you have poor case ventilation
Posted Aug 22, 2006 - This chip is a overclockers wet dream! 1.86ghz is stock, but myself and others can run at 3.5ghz without to many volts. Am waiting on a Scythe Ninja before I OC higher, so I am only running at 3.33ghz 24/7 under load. Even so I have been able to reach 3.6ghz but unstable due to temps. For all OCers, this processor is extremely temp sensitive! Both cores have a built in temp diode for in the core temp readings, I suggest CoreTemp to read them! Temps will affect the overclocking more than voltages will! Packaging/box is well designed, it survived a nasty shipment via UPS (Shipping box was crushed 3rd of the way in, E6300 box only showed minor evidence of this!) Any board should be able to take this processor to 2.8ghz, and a good one should let you do 3.4ghz with ease. At that speed it offers better performance than any other processor on the market, even including the future AMD FX64. Some sites are even able to achieve a 100% overclock, so pick your other computer hardware wisely and you can too... ;)
