Good Budget Projector
Good Price, Long Lamp Life, Low Lamp Cost
Made for business use, so not widescreen
Posted Feb 26, 2008 - First of all, let's be clear that this projector is made for business use. However, I personally bought it for home theater use. Why? Because the reviews online were fantastic, and it was one of the best ones at its price point. So let me review this from a home theater perspective. Setup and adjustment is very easy. I highly recommend purchasing a projector screen to get the best quality picture out of it. The brightness is fairly decent even in a regularly lit room, but it really shines with the lights off. Couple this with a screen and home theater sound system, and you'll feel like you're at the movies! The only downside is that it's a 4:3 projector instead of a 16:9 widescreen, but for me, that's ok. The biggest advantage is its price point. Additionally, most lamps run 2000 hours, but this one has a life of 3000-4000 hours, plus the replacement lamp cost is under $200, unlike others where it costs $300-400. In short, if you're on a budget, this is a great projector for the price. If you want to go all out, get a new HD widescreen one, but for most people this will do great!
