The screen size of this projector can fill your entire living room wall, making big-screen televisions suddenly seem... small. Hook the SP4805 up to your DVD player, cable or satellite receiver, VCR or game player, and prepare to expand your notions of home entertainment and discover details that you didn't even know were there. The SP4805's screen is up to nine feet wide. Watch as the athletes from your favorite sports team play a game that's larger than life, as video game characters loom over you, making you feel tiny in comparison. An optical zoom lens allows you to adjust the huge image to fit virtually any size screen from any location, in perfect focus and with clarity. The 16:9 widescreen format gives you movie theater proportions, so you finally have big, bright high-resolution images that match the quality of your surround sound and DVDs. At 7.8 pounds, this projector is light enough to carry under your arm - to show it off at your friend's house! minimize

5 Star Review Great projector

Strengths:

Great picture, existing support is immense

Weaknesses:

Getting to be a little outdated, resolution is a little low compared to today's latest

Posted May 23, 2006 - Overall, this is a fantastic first or second projector. It has all the inputs you'll need for a great home theater. It's only downside is that the resolution is not quite up to par with today's latest projectors. Of course, for the money, it is a great bargain.

5 Star Review Infocus 4805- sweet

Strengths:

Great picture

Weaknesses:

None

Posted Dec 17, 2005 - I've had this projector for a few weeks, and all I can say is wow. It has a very impressive picture and the size is awsome. My screen is a 100" diagonal. It definely is not as bright as a TV so you do need to watch it in reduced light situations. I was a little worried about buying a refurbished product but it appears brand new. only time will tell if it is as reliable as a new unit.

5 Star Review A nice Projector for watching DVD's at home

Strengths:

There are many plus points with this Projector. First of all the quality you are getting for about $800 is very good. Other Projectors may cost you double .It is having a very high contrast ratio.

Weaknesses:

No weakness found so far.

Posted May 1, 2006 - It is a very good Projector to watch DVD's at home. Even in daylight, it is good. Of course, you can connect it with computer, your TV, VCR etc too.

Awesome picture quality, excellent product, 16:9.

Weaknesses:

Only 90 day warranty.

Posted Dec 7, 2005 - I am excited the first time to purchase this projector since I don't have any experience on it. Then, I see some reviews on this quality image of this projector, I decided to purchase one for myself to try whether it is described as what it is. I am really satisfied with this projector. It produced an awesome image quality and it is 16:9. Excellent to wacth big screen from your pc. It comes with all the accesories that you need. Overall, I would highly recommended this product to everyone.

5 Star Review perfect, you will love it!

Strengths:

high image quality, fast wheel, 16:9, ......

Weaknesses:

a little rainbow effect, but it never hurts much.

Posted Nov 24, 2005 - I bought this 4805 projector a week ago, after reading so many good reviews about it. It has been working fantastically so far! The movie projected on the screen that I bought from the bay is almost perfect. I have seen some other projectors in friends' houses. This one is among the best I have seen. You can see the rainbow effect if playing a pure grid in black background. But I never feel it when watching movies. Buy it and you will love it like I do.

4 Star Review Infocus 4805 DLP projector (refurbished)

Strengths:

awesome picture quality!

Weaknesses:

fan and color wheel bearings make a lot of noise!

Posted Nov 12, 2005 - I got this refurbished projector, along with Infocus's 76 inch 16:9 screen from Woot.com. The refurbished products both arrived well packed, with all original accessories. The lamp on mine read 0 hours, so I've got to assume that the lamp, which can cost several hundred dollars to replace but can last up to 3000 - 4000 hours, was replaced at the factory. It projects an awesome image, even on the relatively cheap 76 inch screen from Infocus. I was actually surprised that it could produce such an excellent image, even if it is not totally flat (but can't see any distortion when watching something). Apparently you can also project onto an untextured, matte white wall and get superb results also. Other than the very loud fan and color wheel noise (sounds like a computer hard drive's idle noise, with some occaisional whine), I'm extremely pleased with my purchase.

4 Star Review Awesome value for Home Theater use

Strengths:

Cheap price, good picture quality

Weaknesses:

Only 90 day warranty

Posted Oct 21, 2005 - Just purchased this (check online for rebates) for a budget home theater setup. We are using this projector on an 76" screen in a very dark basement. While you can certainly get better contrast and brightness from other projectors, I challenge anyone to find a better value for this price point. I was not really expecting much from the projector when we purchased it and thought that this may be a good device for the kids to watch movies / play games on. But are finding that we are watching many more movies on this great projector. Low upfront costs and low bulb replacement costs make this a good choice if you are just getting into a front projection system.
