Like no other Music/Dance game
Quirky characters and somewhat of a story (at least it tried)
Lots of memorization and there's just not a lot of depth.
Posted Dec 30, 2005 - Just because Unison is labelled as a music/dance game, don't expect it to be like the other games in the genre. Unison is all about memorization of the choreography and thus makes the game quite hard for those who have weak short term memory. In each level, you're shown the whole dance choreography and then you're given a chance to practice it. Unlike other games where they feed you short sequences, Unison requires you to remember everything in one sitting. Once you have it down, you have to perform it to a "crowd." It makes the game a bit more realistic but then that isn't the point of playing video games. Other weaknesses are that the choreography is quite simple - it only requires you to push the analog sticks in one of the four directions. Supposedly the Japanese version had gamers doing arcs and circles with the analog sticks. The collection of songs is also kind of odd - you have dance mixes like Barbie Girl and then O.P.P. and Country Grammar?
