One year has passed since Jak and Daxter saved Haven City from Kor and the attacking Metal Heads, yet Haven City is still immersed in deadly chaos as three groups fight for control of the streets. The people of Haven City have grown to distrust Jak's dark powers, and as rumors boil of Jak's ties with Krew and Kor, the city blames Jak for its current woeful circumstances. When the palace is destroyed by a surprise Metal Head attack, even Ashelin cannot protect Jak as the High Council's power broker, Count Veger, forces Jak into banishment to the desolate Wasteland. Jak is flown to the harsh island and dumped. With Daxter and Pecker bravely by his side, the three begin their next adventure where the battle for the city has just begun. minimize

4 Star ReviewJak 3 is a good ending to the beloved Jak trilogy. ...

Strengths:

The characters and story are great.. a good conclusion to the trilogy

Weaknesses:

I miss the platforming found in the very first game

Posted Jul 1, 2005 - Jak 3 is a good ending to the beloved Jak trilogy. It has some of the best graphics seen on the ps2, and the story remains pretty amazing. I loved the driving missions, and I felt this game was the perfect length (around 15 hours). Fans of the series won't be disappointed, but I would recommend that newcomers start with Jak 1 and play them in order.

Strengths:

Well-animated cutscenes, effective minimap system; unique weapons and upgrades

Weaknesses:

A little on the difficult side, may be frustrating for certain players to finish; pretty similar to the previous installment; rather short game (14-16 hours to complete)

Posted Jun 28, 2005 - Visually pleasing, Jak 3 has only minor improvements on the previous game in the series. The weapons and vehicles are fun to use, and the dialog throughout the game keeps you smiling. The professional voice acting does well to keep you laughing, too. Overall, Naughty Dog did well to end the series with this game, since they can't improve much on an already great title.

5 Star ReviewJak 3 basically picks up right where Jak 2 left of ...

Strengths:

Story, Characters, Variety.

Weaknesses:

Not enough platforming missions.

Posted Apr 28, 2005 - Jak 3 basically picks up right where Jak 2 left off. Jak and Daxter have been kicked out into the wasteland outside the boundaries of Haven City, and must cooperate with the wastelanders to stop another foe. All of the trademark cutscenes and humor that you would expect from a Jak game are in place, and the game is much less frustrating than the previous entry in the series. The wasteland vehicles really help to add new depth to the missions, and they come in much variety. There are also a few more boss fights in this one when compared to the previous games. The story has a few twist that are unexpected and well though out, but don't expect a very "epic" ending to the trilogy though. It's still a more than worthy pickup for any Jak fan!
