Snake Eater is easily the best MGS game yet. Cool ...
graphics, gameplay, replay factor, story
camera can be troubling, kinda easy
Posted May 22, 2005 - Snake Eater is easily the best MGS game yet. Cool character design, unique boss battles and a comprehensible story (i'm looking at you MGS2!!!) lead to a very enjoyable stealth action game. It is primarily a stealth game, so if you're not a fan of other MGS or splinter cell type games than this one isn't going to change your mind. I ended up getting spotted and having to blast my way out of most scenarios, but it's clear that better sneaking would have made things a bit easier. The graphics are amazing, even better than a lot of xbox games, and the voice acting is excellent as well. Tons of secrets to uncover and items to unlock give this one a whole lot of replayability as well. The three new features to the game, the "healing" system, stamina and camo, are a mixed bag. Healing and stamina don't add a whole lot. They are more of a hindrance as you have to keep track of them but they won't change the way you play the game. The camo system is cool but can be a pain switching back and forth often. A great purchase, especially now that the price seems to be dropping. Any MGS or stealth action fan can't go wrong.
