Ninja Gaiden Sigma (PS3)

Strengths:

Fantastic graphics, additional content,

Mostly the same from the two Xbox versions, occasional camera angle issues

Posted Jan 29, 2008 - Ninja Gaiden Sigma is the third of the Ninja Gaiden games in recent times, though on the PS3. The game is Ninja Gaiden Black for the Xbox, though with a fantastic graphical upgrade. The game looks amazing, and the graphics are smooth and flawless. The gameplay has some added missions, as well as a new playable character with Rachel. For anyone that hasn't played the Ninja Gaiden games, it's a must-have, for prior owners, it's worth a look without question.

Posted Dec 16, 2007 - This is one of the best games I have played for the PS3 so far. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is smooth. If you have played the Xbox version already there are a few new levels in this for you and if you haven't you need to get this game you won't be dissappointed.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma

Posted Jan 3, 2008 - The game rocks the weapons are awesome and this game is totally great the game is like a ninja game you play as this dude and fight around using weapons which are kinda awesome. also the game is pretty easy so you don't need cheats for infinite health and all that type of things

Posted Nov 5, 2007 - Ninja Gaiden Sigma is all about the challenge. You travel with Ryuu through several stages as he fights hordes of enemies. The game is very tough but satisfying. The graphics are excellent.

Ninja Gaiden Never looked so good.

Strengths:

Gorgeous. Great gameplay.

The third version of the game.

Posted Oct 29, 2007 - Ninja Giden Sigma is a graphically updated version of NG and Black versions for the xbox. because of this, if you never played Ninja Gaiden for the xbox than this is a must own. If you have played it before, then it's a graphical update of a game you're already played. But my, is it a really really good graphical update. It really is an awesome game and highly recommended.

Great Action Game

Strengths:

Beautiful graphics, smooth gameplay

Posted Oct 22, 2007 - Ninja Gaiden Sigma for the PS3 is a great action game. The graphics are beautiful and the game play is smooth. You're able to perform various techniques that are reminiscent of many action/martial arts movies (running along walls, walking on water, etc.) There's also the puzzle aspect to the game that sometimes will make you think a little, but nothing overly difficult. The only slight negative to the game, which most have, is that the camera angle isn't always the greatest and requires some manipulating (at least you're able to adjust it in the game, unlike others.) Still, that's more or less the nature of the 3rd person view game. . .I just couldn't come up with any other weaknesses.

Still the best 3D action game!

Posted Oct 7, 2007 - I've been a big fan of the original Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden Black on the original Xbox. Now that it has been ported to the PS3 with upgraded visuals and extra features, it becomes a must own title for anyone with a PS3 that never played the original Xbox versions. However, most 3D action game fans have already played the originals and the full retail price of this upgraded port just doesn't justify a repurchase. Since I'm a Ninja Gaiden nut, I repurchased it anyway, but many will not. This game will sell so much better at about $30. It is, after all, a 2+ years old title. However, if you've never played Ninja Gaiden, then this IS the game to get, even at retail prices. Ninja Gaiden 2 on the Xbox 360, I so want to play you...

The way of the Ninja!

Strengths:

Breathtaking graphics and exciting battles with updated content to take advantage the the Playstation 3's power.

Weaknesses:

Gets a little repetitive in some levels and for me there are too many different buttons to remember.

Posted Sep 23, 2007 - This version of Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a feast for the eyes, especially if you have a HDTV to enjoy it on. The Ninja battles are exciting and all the jumping, swinging and wall walking are all pretty cool. It's had a great deal of updating for the Playstation 3 and is one of the strongest titles available. I do however think it becomes repetitive in some levels. I also feel that there are just too many different controls to remember and I end up just pushing multiple buttons trying to stay alive. More proficient gamers than I will probably have no problems with these issues, but to the casual gamer it could be an issue. Overall good game with minor issues.

Great game...Great graphics

Posted Sep 20, 2007 - Well it took me a little bit to finish and I feel that the game is great. Graphics are some of the best for the PS3. Storyline dragged out a little in terms of repetative bosses to beat. Overall a great game!

A Great PS3 Port...

Strengths:

New material/chapters, many bug fixes, probably the best-performing PS3 game I've seen in 1080P.

Weaknesses:

Some of the new bits have similar bugs/camera flaws as what were fixed from the previous versions, the game is well-aged for a full-priced title.

Posted Sep 9, 2007 - There's not much to be said about the Ninja Gaiden series (well, except the admission that I that I was a huge fan of the original arcade game), but for the consoles this is definitely the best version out there. And for ~$60 for a 2-year-old game, it better be! The graphics are great, and hold up better than anything else on the PS3 at 1080P (Virtua Fighter maybe, but it's also got a lot less going on). I love the fact it can be installed totally to the hard drive, reducinbg load times a ton. At the same time, why not move to a "save anywhere" system rather than the save-point system that dates back to 16-bit consoles (hey, atr least we don't have to enter a code word to continue, I guess). The biggest flaws are in repeating the old mistakes -- the new levels and features put clunky camera work right back in where they have been fixed, but overall these are far enough between to not distracxt form the experience. Overall, a great game with (mostly) great controls, very visceral feel, and a story line that at least is aging gracefulyl with each iteration!

Team Ninja at Tecmo is GENIUS!!

Posted Aug 27, 2007 - Boy oh boy! Heh, if you thought you've seen everything when you played Ninja Gaiden and NG:Black on xbox(if you have played both of them), you are dead wrong! No, there shouldn't even be a comparison between these two games, that's a pure insult! This game is almost perfect in every aspect! The game play, storyline and graphics! The only thing I hate about it is the darn camera control. On other note, the timing of the release date for this game couldn't have been more perfect because only few days after its release Sony announced their price drop on PS3 60GB system. Great time own a PS3 and this game! Do not delay and go get now!
