Posted Dec 10, 2007 - The Call of Duty series has been known for it's World War II games, and now it amps it up with Modern Warfare. Call of Duty 4 is bar none one of the best first person shooters, maybe of all games, in 2007. The single player campaign keeps you busy, traversing eastern countries, fighting against similar modern day real-life villians. Between fighting sequences, there are cutscenes that flesh out the overall story, and are presented with flash and flare that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Single player mode is a several hour jaunt that keeps you busy, but it is the multiplayer that makes this game worth buying. Multiplayer is all about building. When you first start, your options are limited in match types, weapons, add ons, perks, and so on. Also, you start as a small little soldier. As you fight you gain points, and build class and thus your options open as you flourish. Match types range from team death match, free-for-all, and many others I won't spoil. You start with basic weapons, and slowly gain more to use with the option of add-ons. These add-ons range from scopes to grips. Perks are an excellent addition to the multi player. Perks allow you extra "strengths" in matches, giving you three categories to choose from, and options range from extra health, to pulling out your pistol before you die, to extra ammo, to using claymore. Everything about this game is addicting. You can easily replay the single player campaign on different difficulties, or spend days on end playing the multiplayer. This game is a must have. Do not miss out on a truly memorable gaming experience.
