TeABaG_ - (July 28, 2004) I was torn between purchasing the Cobra XRS 9700 and the Whistler PRO73. In the end I went with the Whistler and I am not disappointed at all! It performs great and has a cool blue led display. It is somewhat customizeable and has some really cool features with it. I definetly reccomend this to someone who wants a great radar detector but is looking in the sub $200 range. In my opinion this is the best radar detector that you can buy under $200.

MedBoyIL - (July 25, 2004) A really great detector, top of the line in all ways, yet easy to operate. It has saved me several speeding tickets already on highway driving, including once where laser (which is notoriously difficult to detect) was being used at fairly short range! Certainly worth it's price (which CAN be found for less than $329 on one website) in savings on speeding tickets!

Sperr1 - (May 04, 2004) Works well with the K band in my town. The alerts went off well within a half mile of two separate police cars with radar on my first twenty minute drive with the pro RX65. Can eventually program off radar bands not desired (Ku(European radar and satellite dishes)X,K,Ka,POP,LSR, SWS (Safety Warnings)

16719891 - (08/23/2009) Compared to the higher priced models of radar detectors now on the market, this unit provides me all the protection that I need for substantially less money. I've eliminated the power cord and have installed the unit directly below my rear view mirror. Easy to read, provides protection 360 degrees, not too sensetive to distract me as I drive, and detects the radar providing me with sufficient warning to check my speed.

pulmon - (07/14/2009) I find this unit better than my Valentine which is now in the wifes car. It seems to have the same sensitivity with around the same range, the voice alert is great . Every time there has been an alert where a Police car is running some sort of radar, this unit has alerted us well before we actually saw the police car. We live across the road from a police station so there are heaps of patrol cars around here and they are very strict on the speed limit along the beach front. If you read the manual (downloadable from the Cobra website) and get to understand the alerts etc then set it up to suit your needs,the false alerts are minimal. I am totally happy with this product. And for the price would recommend it over one of the bigger name brands.

AVE8TR - (04/17/2009) I purchased the SOLO S2 on day 1. Day 3 and 5 the unit just shuts off. No notice. You have to remove batteries and reinstall in order to turn it back on. I returned (Exchanged) on day 6. On Day 13, it started all over again. Thank God for Best Buy so I don't have to deal with their customer service per these other posts. I did talk to an online customer agent who said it was probably the circuit board. No more exchanges - getting my bucks back, but I still trust Escort.
