Beware. Rainbowtronics is scam operation with a thin veneer of legitimacy. Best to avoid them. They were low bidders for the Cannon digital SLR camera that I wanted to buy, but they pitched highly overpriced accessories that were at best off-brand (cheap junk). I soon found myself tangled in a web of concealments, obfuscations and more, for example they bundled all the items into one price to cover the overcharges. I will work on this through other routes. |

I purchased this product based on price and the fact that this item was listed as in-stock with free 7-10 business day shipping. After seeing my order in "order received status" for five business days, I sent an e-mail to customer service to ask why. The e-mail reply came the next day that stated to call the sales department and listed a number. I called the number provided, waited on hold for almost an hour. I then had a conversations with a representative who immediately tried to up-sell me on spare batteries, cables, carrying case..all the while not answering my questions. I declined each up-sell sales pitch several times. He finally answered my question on when I should expect my purchase and told me "some time before Christmas". Seeing that it is the middle of July with 7-10 business day shipping, I obviously had a problem with that along with his tone. The "sales rep" was very unprofessional, rude and arrogant. This was my worst buying experience in over 10 years. |

I would not recommend purchase from RainbowTronics. On Sunday I ordered and paid for camcorder plus expedited shipping and received acceptance of the order. On Tuesday I received an email that the product was backordered and not available for 4-6 weeks. So, instead of getting out the product per our contract, RainbowTronics misled me regarding availability at the stated price and breached the contract. I am waiting to see whether the vendor credits my credit court account properly. |

Extremely fast shipping. Product as described on website but website did not specify different packages - the one listed on the website is for a non-USA package (the USA package includes a longer-life manufacturer battery and full year manufacturer warranty which costs extra) |

Based on the reviews, I decided on the Sony HDR-HC7 camcorder. As far as where, I finally settled on RainbowTronics. Not only did they have the lowest price, they are professionals who took the time to explain the product. They are courteous, knowledgeable, and honest. I recommend them 100% and will definitely use them for my accessories and future electronic needs. |

I have looked at many web sites for availability and a good price on the Nikon d80 camera. Rainbowtronics were one of the few who accually had it in stock and for a reasonable price. Customer service was helpful in helping me decide on exactly what I would need and at a good price. |

I was on the phone with a RainbowTronics rep and he was verifying my contact information (I had mistyped my CC expiration). He mentioned that my password was something unpronounceable. Their passwords are stored in clear text! Their customer reps can see them! It is poor security to store passwords that haven't been cryptographically hashed. It's a standard security practice. |

First they make you call them after you order to give them some useless info before they can fulfil your order. But the call is really just so they can try to sell you some more things that aren't so cheap and they almost don't take no for an answer. Then they send you an e-mail with links to enter ratings for them on all the sites they are listed on and offer a few cheap things in return if you fill out the rating. Probably hoping you will fill it out to get the freebies before they give you something worse to put on them or before you even receive your order. But you cant give them a proper assessment until you receive your order. Also they state on their site they stated that my item was really there and would ship out within 24 hours but it really took more then 48 hours to ship out and they constantly refused to upgrade shipping to make up for them taking to |

I purchased a Sony DSCH-5 Camera and High-speed memory stick from Rainbowtronics. Both items were received quickly, however, I noticed the High Speed Pro Duo memory stick was not the correct one. It's a memory stick that's less than 1/2 the price and efficiency. I have called Rainbowtronics several times to resolve their error and each time have been put on hold and transferred to dead lines. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I am posting reviews on every website I can find and will be notifying my credit card company and the Better Business Bureau of there scam and complete lack of customer service and resolution. |

The overall experience is very good. It is very likely that I will purchase from RainbowTronics again. It's my first purchase with RainbowTronics, a $300 Canon Elura Camcorder. The price is the lowest among online merchants with reasonably good reputations. Searching product and purchasing is easy and no surprises. Since I read the reviews, I knew I will be contacted via email for credit card confirmation. I got the email the day after the purchase and asked me to call a 800 number to verify my payments. I talked with a CS who verified my payment, then offered me some incredible priced accessories over the phone. I declined because I want to keep it simple the first time. But I wrote down the extension of the CS so I can call him later to buy them if my order delivers okay. The delivery was fast and there is no problem with the item I received. I got email notification with the tracking number. I do plan to call them for the additional accessories soon. |

I have ordered a digital camera. First you get an email saying to call them to verify your credit card. They try to up-sell accessories. Then a week AFTER I got the same email and the order was still not processed! |
