Use right out of the box without reading the manual. Well constructed and laid out. Built in speakers, lit record button flashes on standby, and solid when recording. Nice big backlit display.
Handling noise recording while holding the unit. However, all hand held units have the same problem. To minimize this set the unit down, lay flat on your open palm, mount, or use external mics.
Posted 1 year ago - I bought this unit from zzounds.com and, as always, have been very happy with their service. I selected this unit after careful comparison with many other "hand-held" units. (Korg, Sony, Teac, Yamaha, Zoom, Marantz, Edirol/Roland, Tascam, etc.) I picked it due to many advantages: AA (rechargeable or regular) battery power with long-life. Optional AC adaptor. Built in speakers. Internal 2GB memory AND an SD card slot. (No hard drive, no hard drive noise, or shock concerns.) Great specs, frequency response, sampling rates. Solid design, metal housing. I had it in my shirt pocket, bent over and it fell out onto the asphalt. A few scratches and pits, but no denting or broken display! (note to self - don't be an idiot) Comes with Cubase LE. Includes windscreens for built in mics. A wireless remote control is also due to be available. NOTE:LS-10 Firmware Update Version 1.04 1) Support SDHC card for 16 GB. I'm thrilled with my purchase and would highly recommend this unit to anyone needing a pocket sized studio quality recording device.
