The DI-707P is an Ethernet Broadband Router with a built-in 7-port switch. It also features a parallel port to share a printer on a small office workgroup or network and includes a print server application for Windows1. As many as seven computers can be connected to the router's integrated switch, using its seven 10/100Mbps AutoMDIX Ethernet ports. The DI-707P package even includes an Ethernet cable to get you started. The DI-707P is ideal if you're creating a small business network, or if you're a more advanced user looking for additional management settings. The DI-707P includes an easy-to-use web-based graphical user interface (GUI) to configure the router. To keep prevent unwanted Internet intruders from accessing your network, the DI-707P also serves as a feature-rich firewall. So, whether you're a college student who wants to network with friends and roommates or a small business owner who wants to have more control over how your employees access the Internet, then the D-Link Express EtherNetwork DI-707P is the networking solution for you, even if you don't know much about networking. minimize

1 Star Review avoid this product!

Strengths:

cheap

Weaknesses:

webadmin freezes, lacks features, reboots after every minor change

Posted Aug 31, 2006 - I would avoid this product. No longer will I ever go with a D-Link. They really need to work on their quality control department because never have I had such frustrations with any other networking product. The webadmin control panel freezes constantly and requires a reboot, the router reboots itself after every minor change that shouldn't require a reboot, and the thing lacks the feature set it advertised. It now operates as a simple switch for me. What a waste.

Strengths:

It's slightly cheaper than its competition.

Weaknesses:

It burns out just after it is out of warranty. Thinking back over all the networking products I've purchased over the years, I've only had product failures with d-link products.

Posted Jan 26, 2005 - There is no reason why this device should have failed, it was kept well within its stated operating environment and was only subject to light use. I never even got around to using the built-in print server.
