GASTURBO1 - (September 02, 2004) I purchased this HDTV receiver to replace my dated Panasonic one. This receiver is a three-in-one unit. It will display satellite (directv only), cable, and off-air channels when scanned, with a choice of DVI, component, S-Video, and composite outputs. No RF output however. The audio portion can be chosen from digital (optical/coax) or analog via RCA outputs. All the video and audio ouputs remain active regradless of which one you're using, giving you numerous connectivity options. For example you can be watching an HD channel using the DVI connection while recording the same show with a VCR using composite/S-Video inputs without switching the resolution. The same can be accomplished w

kvzichi - (December 26, 2004) OK, confession time first: My name is Ken, and I'm a technoholic. (The first step is admitting you have a problem, so if you think this will be a 'general consumer' review you have been warned. I'm a technogeek whose background is in radio.) That said, the Samsung SIR-T451 digital video receiver is a neat piece of technology for my purposes, and I'm generally satisfied with it. The big caveat there is 'for my purposes' and that deserves an explanation. I am NOT a vidoehead who wants more lines of resolution than my middle aged eyes can see, and I am not so enamoured with TV that I get nervous whenever I don't have cable --I've never paid a monthly fee for TV, and FCC willing, never will

kizicat - (May 13, 2004) DO NOT BUY- Buyer beware This receiver picks up more channels than the Sony receiver but it randomly adds channels to you channel list. After you've deleted 200 channels several times per month you'll know what I'm talking about. Customer service is no help- they're still working on the fix. In the meantime your waranty runs out! Try another product. I read another review similar to this but unfortunately I bought the Hughes.

1 Star Review It’s Cheap, and I Don’t Mean Price!

ccomper - (11/02/2009) The relay did not switch back to AM/FM antenna when the Sirius radio was powered off. ZillionBuy offered to replace the unit if I returned it, but I wasn?t wasting money on shipping to possibly again get another defective product. After reading other reviews I discovered this is a common occurrence with this particular device they are selling. I purchased one from Best Buy and it works perfectly.

5 Star Review Good way to save a buck, for existing customer, not for a new subscriber

fewolf825 - (09/12/2009) I bought this unit from a source other than Direct TV and thus saved about $50 bucks. In addition, if you buy thru Direct TV, you are not guaranteed which unit wou will get, it may or may ot be the latest model. This unit has been superceeded, I believe, by the HR 23 which has more memory, but thats aout it. Finally, its hard to get the streight answer out of Direct TV, they seem to generate a lot of conflicting info. They tell me that even tho i bought the unit, DTV will show it as a lease, and maintain it
