Audiovox SIRCK3 Car Kit for SIRPNP3 SIRIUS

Great product. I bought for my wife's car for easy transport from car to car. It worked perfectly and Sirius is awesome. Very easy to install. Will definitely buy the home dock as well.

SIRCK3

Strengths: Very easy to install. Makes it nice to use your satellite radio from one vehicle to the other.

Weakness: This product is getting harder to find in retail stores.

This unit is very easy to install in your automobile. The directions are quite simple to follow. This dock allows a person to convert the satellite radio receiver (model SIRPNP3) for mobile use. This product uses your cigarette lighter for power and has a magnetic roof mount antenna that is easily installed.

Audiovox SIRCK3 Car Kit for SIRPNP3 SIRIUS.

Strengths: ease of opperation and lg display

Weakness: small buttons

I enjoy my Audiovox SIRCK3 Car Kit for SIRPNP3 SIRIUS. the major change i suggest to make the buttons more accessable while driving, very hard to control when your driving down the interstate. the main thing i enjoy most is the large easy to read display.

Great Workhorse

Strengths: Solid construction, number of preset buttons on front panel (10), easy removal from the cradle, large display, user friendly navigation

Weakness: None noted.

This is an "oldie but goddie." It's a rock solid unit with tons of useful features. Naturally, it is not as small nor does it have the recording capability of many of the newer units. Anyone interested in trying out Sirius without much of an upfront cash investment should give this a try. They're hard to find in regular stores, but if you do, you will likely find it for less than $30 (plus it is eligible for current Sirius rebate offers). My net cost was free.

Audivox SIRCK3 car kit for SIRPNP3 Sirius

Strengths: Easy to set up

Weakness: Receiver locks into the cradle a little too tightly, I am a little concerned about breaking the cradle trying to remove the receiver for use elsewhere.

Product definitely performs intended function well, but as others have mentioned, they are getting hard to find, and I feel like I am going to break the cradle removing the receiver. I also own the first version of the Audiovox SIRPNP in my other vehicle, and I think the car kit that goes with that unit was designed a little better. But this reciever looks better and has better functions.

A satellite-radio car kit whose design was not...

Strengths: A true docking solution: cables plug directly into cradle.

Weakness: If they're worth mentioning, two (unsurprising) points: the cradle and mount are made from plastic, so be as protective of them as possible; Audiovox provides only a 12-month warranty.

This kit includes four main components: a docking cradle, a magnetic roof-mount antenna, a 12V DC power supply, and an adjustable mounting bracket. It also comes with an installation manual and the double-sided adhesive foam tape necessary for semi-permanent installation.

As a docking solution, the SIRCK3 is superior to those designed for many other tuners -- such as the Directed Electronics Starmate Replay -- because the power, satellite antenna, and output cables (obviously, all essential) plug into the cradle itself, rather than the tuner. In turn, connections are made through a system of pins at the bottom of the cradle which mate with the bottom of the tuner. This feature allows the tuner to be quickly slipped into and out of the dock. If you intend to use your plug-and-play tuner in multiple locations -- or even to simply remove the tuner for safekeeping when your vehicle is unattended -- this should be an important consideration.

Note that for the purpose of interfacing with your vehicle's stereo system, the kit only includes a simple dongle antenna to be used in conjunction with the cradle's FM-out jack and the SIRPNP3's built-in FM transmitter.

Lastly, some assembly will likely be required: namely, the docking cradle needs to be attached to the adjustable base mount (should the latter be used) with the provided machine screws.

I would describe this kit as a good complement to the superior PNP3 tuner. But "go easy" on it -- especially you "Lifetime" Sirius subscribers -- as replacements won't be available forever.

Audiovox SIRCK3 Car Kit for SIRPNP3 Sirius

Strengths: Able to move our Sirius radio from vehicle to vehicle.

Weakness: This is a discontinied item and we had a hard time finding it.

We like the product very much. All we needed to buy was the docking station but it wasn't sold separately, so we had to buy the complete kit. We paid as much for the kit as the original radio cost.
