Posted 1 year ago - My old HP ScanJet 3570c scanner finally went bonkers so it was time for a replacement. There is no comparison between the two even when the HP was brand new. The Epson V300 produces color accurate and magnificently sharp scanned images. I've scanned old photos from the 70's and old brown newspaper clippings and the scanner has the ability to help minimize and remove dust/scratches and can restore the color. It really is pretty amazing. The LED light source allows for near immediate scanning with no warm-up time needed and the Epson Scan software is easy to use and quite robust. This is my 4th scanner over several years having had Mustek, Acer, HP, and now Epson. This is by far the best and for the money you can't beat it. I picked it up from Best Buy for $99.99 because I was in a crunch and needed it right away for a small project. Epson Online had it direct for a $10 instant rebate for $89.99 through 1/3/09, so you might check in case they do it again. The price/performance on this scanner is outstanding and I read several other user and professional reviews before buying it and all provided similar comments to mine. I have not used the slide and negative scanning capability but have heard they work well. Happy scanning!
