Strengths:Low Memory Impact, Well Organized, Frequent Updates, Sleek and Efficient
Weaknesses:Occasional Internet Explorer Crashes
Posted 1 year ago - I've been an on-and-off again user of the Norton products for a long time now, and this is easily the best Internet Security variant yet.
Completely revamped, it's sleek and efficient, and does what it should. Barely noticeable impact on my computer's memory (comparable to Norton 360), and very quick about catching things it should. Very much like their new frequent update system, and the way it's able to intelligently do full system scans in the background without me even noticing.
Also like how easy it is to set up for basic users (e.g., older relatives), while also maintaining easy tweaking ability for power users. The current setup of allowing the standard purchase to be used on 3 PC's is excellent, as is Norton's now ongoing system for users to easily upgrade from prior versions.
Do wish they would reinstate the ad blocking capability they had up until the 2007 version, but it's not terribly difficult to find other replacements for that feature.
Ever since installation, I've also had a problem with Internet Explorer crashing perhaps once per day. Logs indicate it's coming from Norton's Identity Safe module (which I use). I'm not sure if the problem would manifest
for those who turn off the feature, but I'm not the only person reporting it, and it has yet to be fixed.
All-in-all, this is probably the version of Norton that people have been waiting for for years. A big thumbs up.
