ZJ_Molly - (November 07, 2007) It was nice to open the box for this product and find such a well-made kit! For instance, high quality silicone hoses are provided to replace the original rubber hoses from the valve cover. In addition, all of the mounting bolts lined up perfectly with existing holes in my Jeep, so you don't have to drill or modify your vehicle - simply remove the original and bolt in the FIPK. No modifications to the Jeep means easy installation and no mistakes! It took me about 15 minutes to install my FIPK, following the directions, and it is quiet and unobtrusive in most driving situations. At high RPMs and full throttle it sounds different than stock (as expected), but not too loud or annoying.

jamesccostello - (01/25/2008) This is an excellent upgrade to your car, and I've notice smoother idling performance, and better throttle response; also, my car used to hesitate, and sometimes stall before it finally warmed up. Now it barely hesitates, and I can't get it to stall even when I try. Because I did not have a 2-3" long bolt, I had to drill another hole in the "L" bracket. (I installed on a 1991 Ford Thunderbird). The install was easy, taking me only 35 minutes (10-15 minutes of which was me trying to drill through metal with a dull bit). I recommend this product to anyone looking to increase their performance, as it makes a big difference over stock intake. (I have not tested it's effect on Fuel economy, but the fact is that less restriction in the intake means better performance and better gas mileage.) This is a great install for someone like me who is just getting started in working on their car, and is great for the casual driver who just wants better mileage.
