I received broken dishes (7 out of 12 were broken) due to extremely poor packing and using minimal packing material. I complained to customer service via e-mail and returned the broken merchandise. This was the fourth time this happened over the course of about a year of purchases. The customer service director e-mailed me to apologize and offered me an alternative that would cost me close to their cost price. When I selected an alternative, I e-mailed the customer service director with the information at which point he totally ignored my e-mails and never responded back. I will never purchase anything from them again, and if I could give them a zero rating I would. Do not buy from them, they do not honor their offers. |

Reading through some of these negative reviews actually prompted me to sign up for this site to defend what I believe is the BEST online shopping site out there. But here's the caveat. I'm only talking to hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. While I'm sure the service is equally good for all their items I only care about turning on my fellow adventurers. I've bought a ton of stuff on STP and have NEVER had a bad experience. Once they even sent me the wrong color and because it was a lower end item that would have cost me almost as much to ship back they gave it to me. Sent back a pair of boots after 100 miles because the fit wasn't there and it was NO problem. Boot's, layers and even bags and tents. BEST prices on quality stuff. (And a ton of contests). HIKERS? SHOP THERE. |

You can find great deals by watching their sales. I have had great experience with their shipping and returns are easy. Items usually arrive in 3-4 business days. |

I had ordered things in the past and they were OK but this time I ordered a pair of shoes, that were suppose to come with 3 different sets of arch supports. Upon opening the box I could tell immediately they were used. There was a stain on the top of one shoe and there were no arch supports. Actually there was nothing other than the shoes in the box, no wrapping paper or the silica packet that are always there. Just used, stained shoes. I contacted the company to tell them I was sending them back and asked that my original shipping charges of $9.95 also be refunded. They said NO! They said they never refund original shipping charges. I said I was unaware I was buying USED items from them and where on their website did it say that some merchandise may be USED? I am still sending the used shoes back so be forwarned if you order shoes from them.....for your $9.95 shipping charge, you may just be the next lucky person to get these used shoes! From other reviews I have read I am not the 1st |

I have dealth with these folks for years with no problem. However, recently I called to check on an order and, by my mere calling to inquire, prompted them to place an "authorization hold" on my credit card twice for the same transaction. I called and they told me that this was there normal business practice, since I had to talk with their operator twice about the same transaction. I'm afraid this company isn't what it used to be |

This company is suck and a big money rips off, their customer service employee is very rude talking on the phone, their exchange policy is not for free, I ordered a brand new item (shoes) and they send it unclean and used from the x-customer who return it. They might be good for other people but they were suck to me. Will never order from them again |

I would never make another purchase from this company because the first experience I had was one of the worst of my life, & I am an avid online shopper. I ordered a jacket from them, & then never heard anything about it until I contacted them & asked what was going on. They then told me that the order had been canceled because I had never returned a call that I didn't receive in the first place. They claimed I had been given several calls & emails but never responded, even though I never received anything. When I asked if I could just reorder the jacket quickly because it was for a birthday present she said i could reorder but that there was nothing she could do about whether it got here on time or not. Plus, the jacket was no longer on sale, & since they had canceled the order I thought they could help me. The problem being that they did not ever contact me, though they claimed to. I would never recommend this seller. Their customer service was completely lacking & apparently angry. |

I had to write a review after seeing some of the unfairly negative reviews in here. Sierra Trading Post is amazing, I have been buying from them for years. They are very helpful on the phone, the quality and prices of their merchandise are the best, and their shipping is always quick and efficient. |

I was a little hesitant to order from Sierra due to the hit or miss ratings I had read on here, but I took a chance anyway because it was such a good deal on the item (a suede sport coat). I was concerned about the item being first quality and I noticed in the description of the item, it said "closeout". I found a link to "glossary of terms" at the bottom of the screen and found "closeouts" where it told me that it would be first quality so I ordered. I was pleased to see the coat arrive in good time and in the promised condition. I would buy from them again. Perhaps some of the problems had with them have been due to people purchasing a "2nd" without reading the description...? |

I ordered an exercise heart rate monitor from them as a gift for someone. When it arrived, it was apparent they had sold me a USED item rather than a new one as I had expected. The packaging had been ripped open previously and was now being held together with tape. When I called them, I was informed they had no others in stock or backordered. Totally unacceptable experience. I would never buy from them again nor would I recommend anyone else buy from them. |

I will never deal with Sierra Trading Post again. Their customer service is very poor and their inventory methods are worse. I ordered a gift for my father in the beginning of december and didn't get any confirmation of the order. Now it is Dec. 19 and still no package. I contacted them questioning the order and they said they were out of stock. After questioning the order they stated they would send me a letter saying it was out of stock.... Wow, that helps me out now! |

I purchased a wetsuit, and paid a typical shipping price of around $8. This should have been plenty to ship UPS or FedEx, but instead, they ship it USPS parcel post. From the tracking information the post office says they didn't ship it, they said they did. They won't do anything for 21 business days, or about 4 weeks! Customer service is completely unhelpful. |

I returned a pair of shoes, and had to threaten to file insurance claim against them before they would even acknowlege they received them back. now they say the credit will show up on my credit card "within the next 2 months". come on credits dont take 2 months to show up. |

Good people, great merchandise, good prices. Shipping is a bit expensive but clearance items are high value. I do wish there was a way to search footwear on size and at the same time selecting a type. |
