Ehhh... it's ok I guess

Discussion of Field Commander

Posted Jun 6, 2006 - I purchased this game for about $30 from Wal-Mart: The Evil Empire. I've got VERY mixed feelings about it. The playability of the game is decent. It's a turn-based RTS game that you do NOT build structures with. I was able to complete the single campaign in the game, in about a week of playing 2 hours a day. Reminds me a lot of Command and Conquer, allthough I suppose I shouldn't link the two games as C&C is an RTS icon. This game is much closer to a steaming coil. I have had the game crash on me more than 10 times and I've owned it only about a month. It offers an on-line mode so you can make maps and challenge others via any of the multiplayer transmissions that the PSP offers. I've had it crash out on me, DURRING multiplayer games several times as well (ULTRA FRUSTRATING especially when you're about to win!) The graphics are.... weak. I expected something better. These remind me of Sonic on the old Game Gear. When in multiplay mode, you have NO way to communicate with the other player. I don't think there are any modes that allow communication between players, unless you're sitting next to the guy you're playing against. The game commands and gameplay is ultra-simple. everything is explained in a tutorial that is short and sweet... not long and drawn out. If you spend 10 minutes going through the 3 tutorial missions, you can ace the campain in about 20 hours of gameplay (guesstimate). Final review? I'd give this game a 65% using PC gamer's rating scale. It's fun, but unless you find it on sale for $15-$20, or you've got a buddy that has the game and the two of you just NEED to settle something... don't bother. The PSP has phenomenal power, and this game seems to avoid that power at all costs. Field Commander: 65% Don't Bother Try again SoE

Loco Roco Official Site for PSP

Discussion of Games

Posted May 31, 2006 - http://locoroco.com/index.html The official site has navigation that is similar to the game control. Using arows you can control the loco roco to different parts of the site. The actual PSP game relies on only the L and R buttons of the PSP (L occo and R ocoo, pretty cute). This cute game is coming out in Fall 2006. Many fans of katamari my like this game as it is in a similar genre. This is one game that I can't wait to get. :)
