Strengths:

This card has everything, great sound, lots of input and output options.

Weaknesses:

Most people won't use 3/4's of the stuff that this card has including the front panel access.

Posted Sep 1, 2004 - This card was easy to install, has the greatest and latest in sound. But, I don't use anything on the front panel which takes up a drive bay, and the price wasn't cheap. But when watching DVD's, listening to music or playing games, the sound quality is excellent.

I got this card for Christmas and have nothing bad ...

Strengths:

Front Panel access to MIDI, audio in/out, firewire; Remote control

Weaknesses:

Cost much more than my motherboard with integrated 5.1 audio

Posted Jan 7, 2004 - I got this card for Christmas and have nothing bad to say about it (although I haven't come close to playing with all of the features of this card). Although the price is high, you pay for what you get. The Live Drive (front panel) feature gives you access to just about everything you could imagine related to audio, and even includes a firewire port (front bezel comes in black, but the package also has a swapable white bezel). I like the ability to plug a guitar, microphone, or keyboard right into the front of my computer. So far, this card has done everything I have wanted it to do. Buy it...you won't be disappointed!

Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum

Strengths:

clear sound, speeds games up

Weaknesses:

none really, could be hard to install. just take your time and READ the directions twice if need be.

Posted Mar 12, 2006 - I bought this from Zipzoomfly and I have to say that I now know what I have been missing. The sounds coming form my computer sound so much clearer. I was using my onboard sound and thought it sounds great what was the big deal. Then I happen to fin this product on sale for $79 after all the MIR's. SO I went ahead and got it. Best choice I have ever made. Not only do my games sound allot better but the run allot better also. Having a dedicated card to handle all the sounds frees up the cpu for other duties such as running the game. If you like to game and you love music then I suggest you look into getting this product you wont be disappointed.

Posted May 2, 2004 - Check Creative's Website for the AEX 4.0 Update. There are a few driver updates that make this really nice. The games included aren't anything to get excited about, but the front bay drive comes in real handy. Oh yeah, don't forget the remote control

Since I haven't used this card yet, I can tell you ...

Strengths:

The Audigy 2 ZS is the card to own if you play games. The Platinum gives you a miriad of input/output options.

Weaknesses:

You loose a drive bay, and you may never use the ins/outs ;) No ASIO, but again, this is not an audiophile card.

Can't use mouse look. - 2CDs - Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 - Raven Shield. Half-way decent if you believe the plot! LOL - 1 CD Steinberg Cubasis VST CE which is a light version of Cubase (VST) SX. WeveLab Lite. If you're into MIDI, get the Cubase. - Audigy 2 ZS Instalation and Aplication CD - Audigy 2 ZS Feature Showcase Demonstration CD - Creative DVD-Audio Sampler Disc (You need a DVD to play the music) - 2 CDs - I didn't count these 2 CDs! - The New AOL 9.0 Optimized - 1045 HOURS FREE for 45 days ;) - Microsoft - Do Amazing Things - With Windows XP, Yes You Can. LOL I'll try to update this review when I can.

Posted May 27, 2004 - Just play too much games recently. And I am starting to care about the sound effect. Then I get rid of the onboard AC97 sound even it supports 5.1 channels speaker. I was surprised that Creative Sound Blaster is always the TOP one since the day I have my first 386 PC until now P4-5.3G. So get it no matter what if you are a gamer. You won't dispointed.
