Paid approximately $93 (delivered). Can't say enough about how good it sounds for the money. We have it connected to my son's entertainment system, where he uses it with his x-box and dvd player in a 12'x14' room. I wish it had more than a single audio input, but it only takes a few seconds to switch the plugs. Even though it is only a 2.1 system it really makes movies come alive. If you can't run surrounds in your location a 2.1 system is just fine. Especially if it as good as this system.

Firstly, I'd like to note that i got these with the $50 rebate. These were an EXTREMELY good value for what I bought them at, which was around $65. But even so they are worth it being $120+ or what not. They are great all around speakers and the bass is very sufficent ( i have it on the lowest setting ) It delivers very well for a computer speaker set and has a lot of power 200watts (not 400watts as it says). As i mentioned that the mids were a bit of a downer, that is just without and eq, as speakers should sound pretty good without one. Just eq it and be happy and enjoy these great speakers that aren't super expensive.

TopStrengths: Really nice bass, and sound is clear. Really nice for gaming, and good with techno and rap songs.
Weakness: If you turn the sound and bass really high, the bass would overlap the sound.
The logitech z2200 is really easy to hook up to the computer, and also easy to connect to the xbox. The design is simple and nice. Sound clarity is awesom, but bass would overlap the sound if it's turn on too high. The volume control mouse or piece is really easy to use, but the design is not that nice looking. Other than all the other comments, the speakers is awesome.

The Logitech Z-2200 system is simply amazing. Sure a 6.1 system would be better, but my sound card could only support 2.1. Logitech made a great choice by keeping the same subwoofer (along with two identical satallites) from their 6.1 system and putting it in the Z-2200.
The sound is pure and powerful and my friends can't believe I got this system for $110 including shipping. As I mentioned, the sub is a little large for sitting under my desk in the dorm room but I figure it has to be to have such powerful sound. My room literally rumbles with bass if I want it to. The system's versatility also allows me to turn the bass down and fall asleep to classical music.
Look no further than the Z-2200 for a 2.1 system at a great price. A+++++

This set of speakers has the feel of total quality. The weight of the subwoofer which is where the amplifier is located is extremely heavy so you know its heavy duty. Setup is very easy, they have put everything in the right place. The amount of wiring is kept to a minimum (compared to my last set of computer speakers. Also the length of the wires are sensible, not too short or too long. Everything looks great and sounds incredible. This sounds better than my home stereo which is no slouch either.

This product is great. It's a perfect mix of great sound quality and tone. Amazing quality for just two speakers and one sub. I enjoy the controls probably the best since I can plug in my headphones and it automaticly turns off the speakers and then I can listen with my headphones no hassle. Easy turn up the volume or turn down the bass. Great for the price couldn't ask for more.

I bought this set of speakers several weeks ago and not once have I regretted my purchase. The sound that these speakers produce is awesome. It is a great deal for such a great quality of sound. You can use these speakers for a variety of uses; among them, movies, videogames, and music. You can even hook this up to your DVD player, Playstation 2, or other console right out of the box with no further purchases necessary. The only drawback that I managed to find was the lack of a remote. When you begin using this frequently to watch movies it would be really nice to have a wireless remote so that you don't have cables around. Nevertheless, I have really enjoyed these speakers. Not once have I heard them crack (but I've never had to turn the volume up more than a third) and they do a good job to make you feel the movie when you are meant to. Great deal.

I recently purchased a new computer and spent extra for a 5.1 speaker system as an add-on. What a mistake! The new speakers could not even match my old 2.1 system. Furthermore, I realized that the way my computer is positioned in the room, I really have no need for 5.1 surround sound. After thorough research, I opted for the Logitech Z-2200 system and I couldn’t be more pleased. You need to hear to believe, no wonder they are THX certified!

I first heard these speakers at my friends place and had to get myself a pair. At $115 - $50 rebate, these speakers are a steal. If you like to blast your music and dont wanna deal with settin up four speakers, these are the speakers to get.

This system is to replace my Klipsch THX 2.1 which I think is probably its main competition. Those speakers were great, but it wasn't worth the cost to repair after 2 years use. I find these Logitech's to be the equal, at worst, but for far less money. I hate the way all electronics are packaged these days. They wrap every component in plastic and tape that it becomes very difficult to undo without risking damage with scissors to remove it all. It also is so tightly set in its box that you really need another person to hold the unit while you pull the cardboard box off. Otherwise, it comes up with the box even when upside down at the risk of dropping it, and this thing isn't light! On the other hand, the set up and wiring is simplier (less entanglement)and I prefer the wired controler than those that come on one of the satellite speakers. Be prepared to house a rather big subwoofer, for this system's unit is considerably larger than that of the Klipsch. I got mine for $111 end price (tax, shipping, etc.) and you can't beat the value. Look no further for a 2+1 computer speaker system.

TopStrengths: I LOVE this speaker set. I have a Toshiba notebook and the sound was pitiful. I have the six-speaker THX on my TV and loved it, so it seemed only practical to buy the Z-2200's for my computer.
Weakness: None. I understand some people feel the bass is too much. I just turn it down. If you really don't like it, stuff some socks or a rag in the hole to mute it a bit.
The price of this speaker system is absolutely incredible if you take advantage of the rebate. DO check to make sure the manufacturer has it in stock. Waited two weeks for the first set I ordered only to find out they couldn't get them. They told me Logitech is discontinuing them. GET THEM NOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!! You won't be sorry. Bought a system that was about $20 cheaper that sucked. Don't miss out on this incredible system.

I enjoy these Logitech speakers for numerous activities such as gaming, tv, and movies. The subwoofer can be heard from 50 feet away without sounding muffled or distorted, and is awesome for showing off the power. The price was the best feature thus far and will definately influence me to purchase more Logitech electronics in the future.

I just received my speakers today and I did not hesitate to put them together which took like thirty seconds to do (not including the insane time it took to carefully unwrap the thing...man they really like to package this thing up). Right when I hooked them up...well lets say that the neighbors and roomates are going to get no sleep tonight, this thing started booming. The 2200 is making my walls and floors shake as I'm writing this. My roomates both have Klipsch 2.1 systems and lets just say when we battle, mine is so totally going to blow both of them together away. The bass is a little overpowering but I'm hoping that this slight problem will go away once I break the system in. With the fifty dollar rebate don't hesitate...order this thing at once...let me just say good luck finding them (especially the price I got them for) since most places are switching to the new 2300 or are needing to backorder like crazy. GET THEM...GET THEM NOW!

TopStrengths: Excellent sound, delivered through a good audio spectrum distribution (hits the highs, and delivers the mid-range superbly), and in-your-face bass!
Weakness: Hard to find a real weakness,for this model. It would have been great to have a real remote (wireless) , but I don't count that as a real weakness.
Having had this model now for a month. I am telling my buddies to get the same model. I am really impressed with the sound quality and power from this unit.
It is the ONLY THX certified unit in its price range, and with the Logitech rebate of $50, it's hard to go wrong.
I did a fair amount of research online, and in my local PC store, and hands down I am convinced this delivers a far superior quality in sound, while listening to my mp3's or listening to streaming Internet radio.

TopStrengths: The strengths are too numerous for me to bother typing. Suffice it to say that there is more than enough bass from the subwoofer. The satellites are clear, and quite loud.
Weakness: None
If you need/want a 2.1 speaker set because you don't have the space or need for a larger setup, this is the way to go. They will get as loud as you need and then some and I haven't heard a bit of distortion, even with the bass all the way up and volume 3/4 of the way. If you want a 2.1 speaker set get these.

TopStrengths: Clean and tight bass, no distortion, excellent highs and mids from the satellites, very good packaging which prevents any possible damage during transit.
Weakness: Subwoofer is a little big, fitting under the desk might be a problem for some, wires are not too long.
I actually bought these speakers as a replacement to a set of Logitech Z3s. The Z3s were great but I had to return them simply because they were not powerful enough for my liking. When I got the Z-2200, the first thing that was striking was the sheer detail that had gone into packaging this product. It was so well packed that I am sure even dropping the box wouldn't have damaged the product.
After unpacking everything, I couldn't help but notice the really large size of the subwoofer, the biggest I had seen so far in a 2.1 config. After setting up the speakers (which was a breeze) I began testing the speakers with all kinds of music and I was simply blown away by the sheer power of these speakers. The sub was powerful enough to shake the walls and the satellites balanced out really well.
At first I found the sub too boomy for my liking. Somehow the bass just didnt seem as clean and tight like the Z3s. I was a little disappointed with this and initially thought this might be due to the flared port, but soon I discovered that this was due to the modded drivers I was using for my SOUNDMAX Cadenza. The modded drivers were configured to produce more mid range bass (60-150hz). Once the stock drivers were installed, it was a different story altogether. All of a sudden, the sub was a new animal....the bass was rich and smooth and had no boominess or resonance at all volumes. Also, I recommend using these speakers with a good soundcard and software equalizers turned off, these speakers are very well designed to put out great sound without any equalizers.
Another thing I noticed was that the sound got better with usage, my guess is that the driver on the sub needs to be broken in, and this should be done with generous amounts of bass....trust me the difference is noticeable and something you will enjoy.
The Soundtouch remote is a great feature and I just love the fact that I can adjust the bass without having to reach either for the sattelite or the sub.
All in all, this is simply the most powerful 2.1 speaker out there and I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a good deal. I got these for $60 shipped after rebate and that's just the best deal ever!
Another thing to keep in mind is where you will be using these speakers. In my opinion these speakers are way too powerful if you live in an apartment complex or want to use the speakers in your office, my theory however is, more power is always better as it can be reduced, but lower power can never be increased...SO GO IN FOR IT!!!

Powerful, high-watt speakers provide high fidelity for PC. Don't compare with dedicated stereo components, it's not the same. For the money,(I paid $104 with free shipping) you can't touch them. Good punchy bass - if it's too much, just adjust it. Good,heavy top notch sub & tweets.I placed sub-woofer underneath desk and it sounds dandy. Desk-top controller is nice also,looks cool too with blue led. Couple it with a good sound card and your in business.
Excellent 2.1's.

Being certifed by THX, you know its good. I listened to music like rap, techno, and rock and they sound awsome. I also watched movies like Kill Bill Vol.1 and the Lord of the Rings. You can hear every step and every swipe of a sword... If you are looking for a good 2.1 setup, then these are the ultimate speakers for you!!!

Weakness: Hard wired speakers so you can't put speakers that far from the subwoofer.
These speakers are awesome, the best 2.1 setup I have ever purchased. The wired remote also is very helpful so you don't have to reach down to the subwoofer and adjust the volume or bass. The speakers are very loud, the sound will vary with what you use the speakers for. CDs will be louder with less of the volume knob turned up, DVDs you will have to turn in up about 1/4 of the way to get it loud, any louder and you may have people complaining. These speakers are excellent for whatever you may use them for. The speakers are hard wired so you can't put them that far from the subwoofer but, that is a very small problem.

I have tried these speakers in both computer and family room. The overall speaker performance is very good for its price. Here is what I found, in the study/computer room of 11'x11', these speakers have too much power since these speakers are set very close to user due to their short cable length. In the family room 16x16, these speakers performance were very acceptable (of course not as good as much more expensive stereo system). As expected, a single sattelite speaker will not be able to provide all of the audible frequency range (a bit lack of mid range performance).

These Z-2200's are Unbelievable!! I have compared them to the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 and these blow them out of the water across the board. Even the Die-hard Klipsch users I know were blow away. Sound quality is hands down the best around in a 2.1 set-up. If you dare crank them up past 1/4 you will be rocking the house. I have had complants from the neighbors about the sound; when them come over and see them, they want a set of there own. :) Definately, worth the $110 I paid for them. Save the extra $70 over the ProMedia's and get these. Thanks to MaximumPC for the recommendation and saving me some $$$.

This unit was returned to Comp USA in spite of a good price with rebate. Evidently the money spent by the mfg, was scant when it came to the subwoofer. They went for size rather than quality.
The sound is reminiscent of the type of aftermarket sound system you would find in a tinny rattling old econ-o-box vehicle. This concept would be better for Logitech to go with a quality 6 1/2 subwoofer instead.
Loved the desktop control, but the unacceptable sound quality totally kills the concept! Stay away-Try something better like Klipsch instead!

Logitech Z-2200 Multimedia Speaker System
Strengths: Excellent clarity and power, great looks, easy set up, great value

These speakers sound absolutely awesome! I went to so many stores trying to figure out what speaker set to purchase. I constantly went between the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX and these Logitech Z-2200 speakers. I was replacing a Yamaha 2.1 multimedia set up, and definitley wanted an upgrade. When it came down to it, I chose these speakers over the Klipsch. The biggest reason being the overall value, and the second being that, in my testing of these set ups, the Z-2200 didn't have the small hiss that the Promedia seems to be handicapped with.
Being an avid gamer, and having quite an audio collection on my computer, I wanted to get the best 2.1 set up that I could find. Games sound incredible! Not to mention that you can almost knock pictures off the wall when cranking up the music! I don't even remotely regret my decision. I received a wonderful deal on these speakers at only $62 dollars delivered after rebates. I couldn't find anything close, at the time, for the Klipsch. I advise to save yourself the $75 difference, and buy these. If your looking for heart-pounding bass, crystal-clear highs, consistently pure mid-range, without having to set up a 5.1 configuration, these speakers are for you! I wouldn't, however, buy these speakers if you have neighbors in close proximity. You will never really get to truly enjoy the power.
