Horrible -- do not buy
They look cool, though the light doesn't work
1) Light doesn't work except for extremely loud music (may be a defunct unit I got, not sure) 2) Extremely bad engineering with subwoofer 3) Horrible sound 4) Manufacturer can't be contacted!
Posted Feb 10, 2007 - Lighting effect doesn't work except for extremely loud music (may be a defunct unit I got, not sure). (By extremely loud, I mean louder than a very very loud rock song -- and even then I only managed to trigger the blue lights on the subwoofer, and not the speakers.) Extremely bad engineering with subwoofer: you can't use the regular speakers without the subwoofer. Attempting to adjust the bass/treble using any of the two pitch controls (what do they need two for?) to desired values resulted in very bad audio artifacts (crackling) Sound quality is abysmal. Although not as bad as a laptop speaker, it's in the same ballpark as a laptop speaker. When I compared songs played with Apple / Harman Kardon / JBL (i.e. high quality) speakers with songs played on these speakers, the cheapness of these overpriced monsters really comes about: there are instruments and effects in the songs that get damped out and are inaudible! (Namely echo effects.) The manufacturer (Sicuro) never replied to my email. It's been a month now... Wondering if the company's gone bankrupt due to their horrible products and customer relations. To be fair, you might consider getting these speakers if... no, don't get these speakers.
