2.1-channel - White - MPN: T9077LLA
Strengths: Killer Sound - Awesome looks
Weakness: Soft touch volume Buttons
I have my Creatures hooked up to my 26" HD TV. The sound is simply awesome! It looks very cool, and I really love the way the 2 satellite speakers are illuminated. Excellent Bass, Midrange and high notes!
However!
Those Stupid soft touch buttons are a Royal pain in the Butt! If your fingers are greasy, even just a little, forget about them working. JBL neads to put better volume controls on these speakers!
Summary: Incredible sound, Awesome looks, but very poor volume controls!

TopStrengths: Design. Sound. Volume control. Easy to install and easier to use
Weakness: A headphone jack would be nice.
I bought the speakers because I fell in love with the design. Once I bought them and used them I realized how great they sounded. The "capacitance touch" volume controls are very futuristic, conventient and fun to use. The speakers are very small and tuck away unnoticed. They also match my ipod.
What else can I say, these speakers ROCK!
I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a simple, small and well designed speaker system for day to day use. They get very loud, but I wouldn't use them for any major parties/occasions.

TopStrengths: Sound quality, power, beauty
Weakness: Adjustability, # of features
These are excellent speakers. They are the highest quality one can get for the price. It's weaknesses are the same as any speakers in this price range with comparable quality. I highly recommend them if you are looking for good speakers for your desk. They are not suitable for parties, but work well for watching movies with small groups of people.

TopStrengths: appearance and sound quality
Weakness: none
The sound quality is very good for a 2.1 speaker. It is still not as good my pair of full scale hi-fi speakers but the overall feeling is very close.

TopStrengths: looks, sound (for the price point)
Weakness: a dedicated subwoofer volume control would be nice, though you can accomplish this indirectly with the bass/treble controls
This item is well designed, but more the subwoofer than the satalities, which look a tad weak and cheap up close (in my opinion). The sound is not bad for the price, but I also own the SoundSticks with Subwoofer, which are more expensive and much, much better sounding. After reading reviews, I thought this would sound about the same, but not even close. Compared to other products in this price range, a 4 star rating is reasonable...averaged up from 3 1/2 stars which is not an option. One weird thing is that the knobs on the subwoofer turn away from the + signs to decrease the setting (bass or treble), and toward the - sign to increase the setting. Like, shouldn't it be the opposite? Or did they just assemble this unit backwards?

TopStrengths: Small and compact with great style and sound. A lot of band for the buck.
Weakness: None.
These speakers are spectacular, they are small and compact and pack a punch. The smooth style really goes well with my white flat screen monitor and takes up very little space. The touch volumn control is nice! Can miss.

TopStrengths: sound quality, unique appearance, JBL brand
Weakness: understandable limitations: AC adaptor non-intergrated/a bit bulky/4 cables could look messy; higher price than most 2.1
I highly recommend JBL Creature II 2.1 minijack speaker if you find the price acceptable. I used it as an upgrade for my bedside CD player. The sound are now clearer and more charming. Before the purchase, I have listen to more than several alternatives and I like JBL Creature II the best. Now that I have it and I sstill believe it is the best option around.

TopStrengths: Sleek design, excellent fidelity, great value
Weakness: no balance control
I recently upgraded from a iMac G4 to a iMac G5. The G4 came with a pair of external compact "eyeball"-shaped speakers that could really put out a lot of sound. I believe those speakers were designed by Harman Kardon.
The internal speakers on the new iMac are lousy. It's understandable - there's just no room in that chassis, but I was surprised that Apple didn't offer external speakers as on the G4 iMac.
The Creature II's are the kind of speakers Apple should bundle with the iMac G5. The glossy white plastic shells are a perfect match to the iMac, and the combination of the speakers with the computer give the desktop a neat futuristic look.
Setup is easy, although you must make sure that the connectors are completely plugged into their sockets on the subwoofer (each plug's barrel is differently shaped so as to fit in only one socket). It is possible to make a partial connection without seating the plug fully, but then the volume control on the right satellite doesn't function.
Sound quality may not be audiophile-grade, but it is excellent to this casual listener's ears. I highly recommend the Creature II.

TopStrengths: Great Sound, Small footprint, unique design
Weakness: speaker cables may be a little short
I had wanted these speakers for a long time and finally broke down and bought them. There are certainly more expensive options out there, but I am not sure why you would spend the extra money. These little speakers sound great. They also get plenty loud enough, especially when used in a small office or bedroom.
The only problem with them is that the speakers have a slightly shorter cord than I would have liked, which prevented me from putting them exactly where I had planned, but I was able to easily work with it.
I wish I had bought these speakers sooner. Their unique design and great sound easily justify their expense while making one question the reason for buying anything that costs more.

TopStrengths: completely adjustable base contribution, brightness also controllable. Comparatively light weight, attractive design, sexy downlights, cool mute/ volume controls, real range of sound w/profound bass
Weakness: no right left balance. Can be compensasted for by placement, but sort of expected. Don't not buy for this reason. Just move the speaker in question
I first heard this system 2 years ago at a mac factory demo. The bass was under the table, so I never saw it. Any questions was responded to by "Where is the hell is that amazing sound coming from?"
Uh, I just picked these up last week, and. . . .

TopStrengths: sharp and clear sound, good base, cute
Weakness: Not proper for classical music.
This is one of the most cute speaker in the world.
It covers from jazz to recent movies. Sure, it is 2.1ch
speaker but you can hear great base sound with
clear sound.
I strongly recommend this speaker to you. This is just
66$. It's not only good speaker but also very cute!!

TopStrengths: Clear sound. Not a bad bass to it. Looks good. Sound doesn't become scratchy when you turn the volume up.
Weakness: The big, black, power supply thingy seems to heat up a lot-even if you just have the speakers plugged in and not on. I don't know about you but this could possible be a fire hazard to some households.
For the most part the speakers have done everything I've wanted them to do. It lets me listen to my iPod whenever I don't want to use headphones. Even though there isn't a headphone jack and they don't have a remote, these speakers are definitely worth the money.

TopStrengths: Very attractive, better sound quality than most, reasonably priced online.
Weakness: Larger than most Ipod type speakers, very large black power transformer, difficult to get proper connections for two sattelite speakers.
I purchased the Create II to go with a new Ipod and Creative Muvo2. While the sound quality is good, the speakers are fairly large and the wiring is long and awkard. It can be placed under the subwoofer. Overall, I would recommend the Altec Lansing InMotion or the JBL Onstage over the Creature II. They are smaller and have nearly as good sound quality.

TopStrengths: We are unable to comment as they do not work.
Weakness: There is no power to the unit.
I ordered the speakers as a Christmas gift. When they came we plugged them in and there is no power to the unit at all. We are very unsatisfied, and may be out our money.

TopStrengths: Beautiful design, easy set up, JBL sound.
Weakness: No headphone jack. No dedicated subwoofer volume control.
I was looking for an affordable, quality 2:1 speaker system for my white iBook and 20 gig iPod and I found what I needed in the JBL Creature II speaker system. It's damn cute, easy to set up, produces lovely sound and looks like it was made expressly for my Apple equipment.
In a pinch, I would have no problem setting it up for home theater use, too, thereby avoiding the hassle of hiding wires in a surround-sound speaker system.
If you want a decent-sounding, affordable 2:1 speaker system for your computer, MP3 player, etc., then look no further. Note: the system is available in all black or gray, too.

TopStrengths: Size of the satelite speakers, great sound, modern looks
This satelite system puts out very good sound for its size. The touch volume control is a nice feature, and it looks great with the new iMacs. You're tempted to put the subwoofer out of the way to save space, but it looks too good to hide.

TopStrengths: small, doesn't take up a lot of room. easy to hook up. surprising quality of sound. good looks.
Weakness: volume buttons were hard to find, they might be a little too touch sensitive.
i was really surprised by the sound that came out of these baby sized speakers. the bass was shocking. i really like the looks. although they're not meant to be portable, its still easy enough to move around if you have to. great product!

TopStrengths: great base, easy to install and use, amazing sound
Weakness: large
This product has the best sound of anyother products I've tried. I use it for my ipod and it is everything I expected it to be. Wether it's for a computer or ipod, I would chose this over any product.

Harman Kardon CreatureII Desktop Speaker System
Strengths: Great looks if you like that domey, futuristic, high-gloss appearance. The touch volume controls are very nice and are very functional.
Weakness: The mid-range is weak, this is the worst part. There's no headphone jack either.
They were by far the best in the $60-$80 price range. And in my opinion, they're the best in the 2.1 group. I really like the looks and the sound quality is acceptable. The controls are nice and well placed. There really are two things that fail to make them perfect: weak mid-range and no headphone jacks.
Overall, I would buy these speakers again. They are truly worth the money and unless you need 3D sounds for gaming, or 6.1 for movies, these 2.1 speakers are very nice.
