4 Star Review Basic Construction VS Value = Decent trade off

fightingnun - (September 22, 2006) DISCLAIMER This is my first concertina. I only play moderately. I'm still a novice but I can jump around basic chords pretty easily. Includes: Concertina, single note sheet, snug soft case. PROS: * Price - This is the second lowest price I've found-for a brand new concertina. The only models I've found cheaper had questionable construction and cheaper bellows. Which brings us to.... * Bellows - They are fake leather but much quieter than the red "rice paper" bellows I tried out on other concertinas in this price range. * Sound - Other reviews have complained about theirs not being in tune, but not mine. It's kinda limited with 20 buttons but the overall octave range

4 Star Review Korg TR-88 for home studio use

durkee123 - (October 25, 2007) I recently purchased my TR-88 to use for recording in a home studio and for limited live performances with a band. I haven't bought a new synth/workstation in several years so was looking for one that had robust capabilities, was not too hard to use, and was reasonably priced. The TR-88 fit the bill. I've been able to get up and going on the keyboard with a minimal amount of spin-up time. The unit is a little heavy for moving around (approximately 53 lbs for 88 key model) but it is very well built and I feel comfortable transporting it without fear of it being too fragile. I may purchase a wheeled soft case at a future date for easier keyboard transport. The weighted hammer action of the key

4 Star Review Very good middle range workstation

qcharlie - (September 06, 2007) This is a good middle range workstation with lots of controls, for examples: 8 sliders, 8 knobs, a pitch wheel, a modulation wheel, a ribbon controler, etc. Over 1000 voices, you can play them in different ways, such as solo, multi-splits, multi-layers, accompany with over 6000 arpeggios, parttens, effects, etc. Lots of edit and recording functions make you can design youselves arpeggios, partens, sounds combining with its software. The main weak points are: 1. the screen view angle is very bad and the screen angle can't be adjusted (I like Korg M3's style); 2. the screen is little small, same information can't be easy read; 3. the screen is untouchable (I perfer Korg OASYS with a big, brigh

4 Star Review A Great First Synth

menikmati - (10/21/2008) For people interested in just turning knobs and seeing what they do to the sound, then the microKorg is for you. While it may not be a great absolute beginner's synth, it's a good entry-level one with lots of features, great preset sounds and just plain fun to play around with. The first thing people mostly notice is the abundance of text on the microKorg itself as the unit only uses a couple of knobs on the top right hand corner to control a ton of parameters by cycling the EDIT 1 and EDIT 2 knobs. The text is small and difficult to read in low light conditions, especially the green text on black background. The keys are also fairly small and will most likely discourage anyone with large hands. The microKorg is in direct competition with the Alesis Micron with it's full-size keys are great synth engine. The preset sounds are impressive as the pitch and mod wheels are sturdy and provide just enough resistance. Overall, the microKorg is a great beginners synth for people that want to get their feet wet in synthesizers. It may lack full-size keys and not be as intuitive as the Alesis Micron, but it holds its own ground with its signature Korg sound.

5 Star Review great synth

radrusselll - (07/26/2008) I was very pleased with my Roland Juno-D Synthesizer. The Possibilities with this synth seem endless, yet it is easy to use. The hundreds of patches sound excellent, and the lieghtwieght design makes it very convienient. The Juno-D is perfect for live performances, recording, or for home use.
