It\\\'s a good investment.

Strengths:

It works but the strength is in how easy to use and set up. Not intimidating at all like some other software I have tried that was similar to Acronis.

Weaknesses:

A couple of times I got the computer blue screen and I had to start over. Likely user error, me. Acronis did return me to a before state so no damage was done. Just a little loss of my time.

Posted Dec 20, 2007 - I think I need a little more practice to feel comfortable using it. I do not experiment with too many software products that I am unfamiliar with but when I do I certain I can count on Acronis. I like having it installed.

True Image 11 Home

Strengths:

Provides a complete back-up, both data and programs

Weaknesses:

Very slow to complete task

In the event of a disaster, your complete computer, both data and programs can be restored without the need for re-installing a program or having to setup your computer. It is a utility that every computer should have.

You'll leave Norton Ghost and never go back

Strengths:

Easy --- really easy --- to use for a computer user with moderate tech knowledge. More reliable recovery than Norton Ghost. Hands off backup

Weaknesses:

Can have trouble with scheduling. Poor customer support (email only).

Posted Feb 29, 2008 - Norton failed me once too many times, so I switched to Acronis 10, then upgraded to this version. It has saved my bacon many times. Windows users need more than a simple backup; even on a barely used system, it crashes and burns from time to time, or an app stops working after an update. True Image allows you to roll back the clock to a time when the system worked; whether an entire disk image, or individual files. Users report issues with unattended scheduling not working, but I have not had to get hold of tech support --- which is a good thing because it's email only.

works on Vista

Strengths:

I bought this because I needed to do backups on my Vista machine. The software worked as expected.

Weaknesses:

The initial display could be a better, but it's OK.

Posted Feb 23, 2008 - I have a version of Acronis that worked on XP. I liked it so much that I bought this when I needed to backup my new Vista machine. So far, so good.

Acronis Sucks

System crashes. 'Bootable' Rescue media refuses to boot!!

Posted Feb 17, 2008 - I'm running W2K with no raid, and vanilla flavored MB and Plextor CD. Boot CD's won't boot, although all other Bootable CD's I have work fine. I used to like Acronis. Last good version was v8 Stay the heck away from the new versions. They have added so much extra stuff to the package that they have LOST their original focus: Backup and Restore Partitions!!! z

Worth the $ I paid for this

Strengths:

Very flexible. Doesn't use a lot of system resources for incrimental backups.

Weaknesses:

Haven't had any problems yet.

Posted Feb 9, 2008 - I've used Norton Ghost for years, but on the recommendation of others, I picked up a copy of True Image. I'm very pleased with it! It was easy to set up automated drive backups across my network to my NAS, and True Image uses a lot less in the way of system resources for the backups than Norton Ghost did.

Strengths:

Good HD imaging software

Weaknesses:

Haven't seen one yet.

Posted Jan 2, 2008 - Does what it is supposed to do. After installation, just reboot your machine and make a backup with no problems. Whenever you need to restore your machine in case something goes terribly wrong, you can count on Acronis True Image 11 to restore your HD back to where it was before. BTW, Acronis backup files are smaller than Ghost backup files. This is definitely a very good investment for your peace of mind.

Strengths:

Easy to use, disc image functionality is great.

Weaknesses:

At this poiut I havent run into any.

Posted Dec 18, 2007 - I have had Norton Ghost in the past and I this product seems more user friendly and has additional functionality. This is a simple way to insure that you dont lose important data or make it easy to upgrade computers/hard drives.

Great product

Posted Nov 30, 2007 - I've used their free 30 trial products before and they have always worked as advertised. This time I decided to purchase a retail version and could not be happier. It seems like I'm always using the disk image software to upgrade my machines and that along is worth the price.

True Image 11

Strengths:

Easy to use, lots of ways to set up and utilize. Can make full or incremental backups.

Weaknesses:

May occasionally report "no drves found", a simple reboot always fixes this error.

Posted Nov 27, 2007 - This product has "saved my bacon" several times... with the higher failure rate of today's larger hard drives, you stand to lose a LOT of information should a drive fail. Simply making a monthly backup of this product will create full drive images that can be very easily "recovered" and will put your boot drive back to pristine condition (up to the time of the image, of course). It can image any drive, not just the boot drives. GREAT insurance for your hard work and files...

Unable to tell become my system crashed after installing the software.

Caused my system crashed after installing the software.

Posted Nov 27, 2007 - I purchased an external hard drive for my PC and was eager to use Acronis True Image 11 Home to backup my entire PC (including the operating system). The software installed successfully, but upon reboot, it caused my system to crash, and I was forced to reload Windows.

Best Backup & Imaging Software. Period.!!!

Strengths:

Backups and images every time as promised. Tried to restore and it does it very fast. Secure Zone feature is a real boon.

Weaknesses:

None. Would be nice to have a printed manual.

Posted Nov 19, 2007 - Great Product. I play around with various download products and often time something goes wrong. I made a clean image with True Image on the secured partition that this software creates and now I am ready to play and try all kind of downloaded softwares. Something goes wrong.....and with 2 clicks it restores my hdd's image to what it was. Viola.. Its fast as well. I tired Ghost 12 and Ghost 12 sucks at doing everything what they have promised/advertised. Further Ghost is very bloated and cluncky. Ghost really creates a ghost in your overall experience. True Image....Way to Go!!! Good Job Acronis.
