Finally find a toaster that make perfect toast (white, wheat, bagel, English muffin, etc....) each time just using the factory setting. You can adjust it if you want darker toast. The toast is darker on the top than the bottom but it give a great taste because it is cruchy on top and at the same time a little soft on the bottom so you don't have bread crumbs all over you when you eat your toast, kinda like French toast, yum!
I have also use it to broil 1.5 inch. steak inches, salmon and chicken breast. They all come out perfect.
It is also very easy to clean. The toaster can get very hot on top and on the sides, the bread crumb tray need to be removed from the back so it is safer to have the toaster put on the countertop front and have space on the sides so you can rotate the toaster. If not in use I unplug the cord for safety reason. You have to reset the clock if you unplug the unit. Since I have many clocks in my kitchen I just leave it as 12:00 everytime, all you need is to just set the timer.
This is quite compact and can fit 2 cornish chicken or 3.5 lb chicken. It is perfect for single, couple and very small family. If you need to roast a bigger chicken, it is better and safer to use the normal oven. Haven't tried the baking setting and the convection fan. Will update this later. I bought this at Costco, it is a little cheaper than Amazon. This is a little expensive compare to the others but this is a very solid unit and not flimpsy like the others. Some high end unit are a bigger and much more expensive over $200. This is less than $100 and with the perfect toast every morning and great grilling and the convenience, I think it really worth the price. In the manual, it does not recommend wrapping the bread crumb trays and/or the broiler tray with aluminum foil but I try it and it works okay for easy clean. Just make sure the aluminum foil is just the right size and don't get caught or contact with any of the coils in the toaster.

TopStrengths: So many options for baking, broiling and toasting
Weakness: Could use a better instruction booklet, especially regarding the difference between the 3 rack levels.
Our old toaster oven needed to be replaced, so we bought a less expensive model and promptly returned it because we couldn't toast one slice of bread after another (an important feature for our home in the morning). Then we bought another toaster and the toast burnt on the lightest setting. Only then did we purchase this toaster oven, and it is fabulous! My husband likes his toast just so...and that's how he gets it. I love the convection feature as it has reduced my dinner prep time considerably. Following their direction to reduce degrees and cooking time has been perfect. Once you get used to the timer settings, it is easy to use. I also really like the large interior as it allows me to bake a whole chicken. This has definitely been worth the money!

After many hours of comparative research I decided the Cuisinart TBO-165 would best serve our needs. I was a bit leery of purchasing the product over the Internet without seeing and feeling a unit at a B&M store. This unit was difficult to find locally. We were not disappointed when the toaster oven arrived.
The Cuisinart has a half cubic foot of space and two rack positions, heavy gauge trays are included with the unit. We wanted digital controls rather than the typical twist knob timer. The clock, oven shut off timer and the toast settings and operation of the oven is very easy to understand. The controls are flush for wipe clean ease.
The footprint size of this appliance is a little bit wider and deeper than we would have liked and takes up valuable counter space, but we wanted it to be able to accommodate a frozen pizza or a casserole, which is does fine. The unit is modern and well designed and looks great in a kitchen with other stainless steel appliances. The front door seals well and opens in the down position. The toast bagel feature is great and the ability to defrost and then toast a frozen bagel automatically is pretty cool. There is a setting for 4-6 slices of bread and the outside didn't get overly warm, that I noticed. The other reports that this unit barely toasts the bottom side of the bread are correct but this does not bother me. If we wanted perfect toast, we would have purchased a toaster not an oven. Given the flexibility of this unit, and the evenness of the top toasting, it is a small price to pay.
We have not had an opportunity to use the convection feature a great deal but it appears to work well. It only takes few minutes to pre-heat the oven and alarms when it reaches temperature. We like that it beeps to let you know it is preheated, however it is very loud and apparently not configurable. The crumb tray is only accessible from the back side of the oven. Considering that we will only need to remove the tray once every few months, this is not a significant problem.
The Cuisinart is a bit pricey but if you can find rebates and deals, the extra cost can be modified a bit. Knowing that this unit will last many years as opposed to the 2-3 year life span of many smaller toaster ovens, it is worth the extra cost.

Weakness: No light inside the oven. Does not have hand grip for removal of cooking rack.
We have owned several toaster ovens. This is the best one yet. Controls are easy to understand. Love the convection oven feature! Toast great too. This oven offers a lot features yet only takes up very little space. We love it! Thanks to PriceGrabber we got it at a great price.

TopStrengths: Makes great toast and is easy to use. The oven works great for baking samll quanities of food. Easy to clean.
Weakness: Only one shelf position has a stop which keeps the shelf from falling out. When using the other shelf positions rack easly comes sliding out of oven. Very dangerous with hot dishes!!
Cuisinart customer service is not easily accessible. They do not answer emails or phone calls. Tried several times to ask about the shelf problem and not getting any answers from them. With the exception of the rack problem, I really like this oven.

TopStrengths: Toasts relatively fast & clock timer moves to zero when done. Convection does help when used.
Weakness: A bit pricey.
I checked Consumer Reports & on-line ratings before I decided on this model. I was afraid that my wife would have something bad to say about its large size, but she was happy with this choice. I tested the unit by putting in a few slices of bread for toast, & I don't know if it could have been more evenly toasted to perfection.

Since you mentioned the size of this item in your review, can you tell me if this is accurate?
It actually seems pretty small to me, so I am wondering if these are the specifications of the interior cavity and not the exterior.
I have a very small kitchen with hardly any couter space so size is a big factor!

I purchased this over because it was the best oven rated from a consumer magazine and from an online store. It seems to be on target with the reviews. The oven is large, and accomidates 6 pieces of bread. The timer works great, except that it beeps instead of shutting off the oven.

I received this as a gift and have enjoyed it completely.
Unlike previous toater ovens that stayed hot and burned second servings of toast at the same setting, this oven reduced the time to compensate for the heat already in the oven.
The time-temperature digital read-outs are excellent. This certainly is miles ahead of the traditional toaster ovens.
The convection feature reduces the time that I would cook in a traditional oven and does not dry out the food. A roasted chicken came out perfect!!
This oven may be a little more expensive than others but is well worth the price considering the results.

Weakness: No stop tray on the 2nd shelf.
This is one of the best ovens I have ever used.. From toasting almonds to baking chicken, it has been day and night from the previous ovens. The only down fall with this oven is that the tray has a chance of sliding all the way out with no stops. This can pose as a danger when you are pulling your dish out.
This is definitely one easy machine to clean. Literally wipes right off.

Haven't owned a toaster oven in years, this one has exceeded my expectations. Couldn't find it anywhere locally to actually see what it looked like but was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived. TopStrengths: after I give my Cuisinart toaster oven a try I will be able to tell better what it's strengths are.
Weakness: Did not come with any pans. Had to buy a Silicone Grabber to grab edge of hot rack and pull the rack out. Increments of 5,10,15 would be nicer. Increments of 25 degrees seems too big a jump
I have not had my toaster oven very long yet and am going to try it out tonight. Would have been nice if the rack automatically came out when you open the door. But I have heard good reviews on Cuisinart toaster ovens so I hope it's as good as they say. Thanks to PriceGrabber I was able to find a great deal. Thank you PriceGrabber! I'm In Love With This Toaster Oven
Strengths: Perfect size. Perfect toast. Convection baking is wonderful, but the most impressive thing is that is is so easy to clean.
Weakness: The crumb tray that removes from the back and the rack with no stops that makes it a little difficult when removing a hot pan.
After my last nightmare of a toaster oven which was impossible to clean, I decided to do some research on my next purchase. Everything I read and saw said this was the best. Thanks to Price Grabber, I got a good deal with shipping included (that always makes me happy). I could not be happier.
We are only two adults and I hated heating our range oven just to cook us a meal. The convection feature on the Cuisinart lets me cook as usual without the extra expense of heating the electric range oven and the kitchen. I have used the oven to make a small eye round roast, enchiladas with perfectly melted cheese on top, baked fish, chicken Parmesan and other dishes that required the range. We have broiled hot dogs in it and made perfect toast and bagels.
Because I'm using it so much instead of the range oven, I will probably save quite a bit of my payment in reduced electric bills.
