Rotisserie Oven

Strengths: Quiet, temperature is accurate, results in cooking have been uniform

Weakness: I am always looking for a really large oven. This is pretty good but still won't fit a standard cookie sheet. I don't like having to tie up the chicken in this model.

Living in Arizona I love cooking outside when the temperature soars. My house stays cool which is important. I really like rotisserie chicken and this model works well for it. Be careful on the size of your chicken. 5 lbs is really the absolute maximum. I'd stick with 3.5 lbs. Thus far I have made two types of bread and the chicken. I am pleased with the product. I would select if over the other models available. I chose 4 stars because, as I mentioned I want EVEN BIGGER.
PS I will also use it in the winter, moving it inside to warm the kitchen ( the outside does get hot)

Hamilton Beach 31197 Large Capacity...

Strengths: Large capacity. Rotisserie.

Weakness: Overly heats the area around it. Doesn't do as well on small jobs.

This is my first convection oven and perhaps I had lofty expectations. I find that this oven provides nothing special when used in convection mode. Just due to room, it doesn't allow two pizzas to be cooked as properly as it does one. It takes longer to cook things than the toaster oven it replaces, which I was surprised about. The rotisserie function is nice.

very good oven

Strengths: large capacity, dual tray, rotisserie feature

Weakness: none so far

we were looking for a grill with dual tray and there aren't too many models with proper dual trays, most have very little space between heating element and tray when both trays are used together. Rotisserie is also a nice to have though we've not tried it yet. heating is fast and timer feature proves useful.

Hamilton Beach 31197 Convection Oven

Strengths: Large enough to cook almost any thing. Easy to keep clean.

Weakness: Puts out a lot of heat while cooking.

This is my first convection oven and perhaps I had lofty expectations. I find that this oven provides nothing special when used in convection mode. My old small toaster oven cooked faster and put out less heat. The rotisserie funcion is a nice addition.

Hamilton Beach 31197 Convection Oven

Strengths: Reasonably priced, good size/capacity, cooks well, and less heat output than regular full-sized oven.

Weakness: Slow and slightly uneven toaster function.

Bought this for my parents awhile back and other than toasting bread they're happy with it. In this size/capacity and $100 plus or minus price range, this model has the best user reviews. It doesn't heat up the kitchen like a regular oven, the convection and rotisserie features work well, and it comes with the necessary accessories. The Folks and I like it...

31197 Large Capacity Rotisserie/Convection Oven

Strengths: Large size

Weakness: none

My wife picked this convection oven up to replace a smaller unit we have had for a couple of years. This thing is HUGE! We find ourselves cooking most of the things we were cooking in our conventional oven. The sides and top get pretty hot but so did our smaller one. The convection really cuts down on the cooking time and you can easily switch on the fly if you notice the top or bottom of your food getting too brown. I would recommend this and have to some friends. The design is also appealing with the bowed front door and glossy finish.

Great Little Oven

Strengths: Bakes and broils very nicely. Heats quickly, compact, yet roomy inside.

Weakness: Cabinet gets very hot on top. Oven temperature in mine is about 30° below knob setting.

This little oven has the most space inside of any economical countertop oven I've seen. I've done several casseroles in it and it cooks very nicely once a person gets used to its idiosyncrasies. To compensate for the inaccuracy of the temperature knob, I use an oven thermometer sitting on the lower rack to monitor the actual oven temperature. I ignore the knob setting and turn it up until the oven thermometer reads the correct temperature.

This oven takes some practice and close attention at first. The convection feature cooks very fast--keep an eye on the biscuits or they'll burn. Convection mode cooks the pie dough or biscuit toppings on things like pot pies too fast and browns them before the filling can get cooked. It would be best to use a covered casserole or use the regular bake setting for those kinds of things. Another thing to be aware of is the oven heats the top element even in bake mode, so whatever is on the top rack will brown a lot faster from the broiling effect of the hot top element than an identical item on the lower rack. I haven’t used the rotisserie yet, and probably won’t. I prefer old fashioned roasts. For example, in a casserole I smothered a partially frozen game hen in chopped veggies, added some seasoning and a can of chicken broth, and then put the lid on it and baked it for 55 minutes in convection mode. It came out tender and juicy.

Overall, I love my little oven and use it nearly every day. It’s very easy to clean and it looks nice sitting on the counter.

Just Perfect

Strengths: This little convection oven is compact, sleek, easy to use and bakes beautifully. Lightweight.

Weakness: None so far.

I bought this little convection oven for my small catering business. Doing open house for small businesses that don't have kitchens is a lot easier with this oven. We do scones, savories, etc. and it is a perfect size. Easy to carry from one business to another. I can bake scones in half the time and they come very well. I use it at home occasionally and did pot pie the other night. Worked great. I read the reviews for this product and even though there were a few, very few, negative reviews the positive outweighed and I ordered the oven from Wal-mart. I do like my little oven.
I want to use the rotisserie function and the regular baking function, but mostly I bought it for the convection capabilities.
If you need a small, sleek, lightweight oven, this is the one. I plan to purchase another for my mother who doesn't need a big oven in her apartment.

Nice Empty Nester Compact Oven

Strengths: Large enough to replace full size oven for most of our meals

Weakness: Not good for toasting.

This is a good convection oven for an empty nest family that cooks for two. It uses less energy then our full size oven and cooks well. Also, like the fact that you can cook two different items at the same time, since it has two racks. Overall, we are very pleased with this product.
