Really nice tripod

Strengths: I love it, really versatile. Enough features to be expected for a tripod. Light weight and compact.

Weakness: Not as sturdy as I expected but this is just minor problem because it's light though !

I like this tripod a lot, can't find a real weekness. It help me alot on the road, especially when I need stable camera holding. Slik makes this like a professional tripod but light weight and not expensive for the features that they offer. Thanks go to Slik and pricegrabber.com to offer me a good deal like this !!!!!!!

Very Functional Product!

Strengths: Easy 3-D adjustments; steadiness; affordable especially considering that B&Hphotovideo.com includes an original SLIK carriing case as a bonus!

Weakness: Necessity to use a coin to tighten the quick release plate; does not have spare quick release plate

Very versatile, easy and smooth adjustment for every angle, nice design, good worksmanship. I would call it even elegant. I wouldn't mind having the second release plate included for easy switch between camera and camcorder. Also, the user instructions could be more detailed. I am not sure about the usefullness of bubble level, since there are so many ways except for legs lengths to ensure the proper angle and level. But in general this is a very nice piece of equipment. I am glad I bought it. Would recommend to everyone who wants to have their photographic experience close to professional.

Slik U9000 Tripod

Strengths: Inexpensive, name brand, what i was looking for

Weakness: not as sturdy as i thought

This tripod is excellent for what you pay. It is obviously not as good as a top of the line tripod, but it is quite satisfactory. Not has sturdy as i had hoped, but it still will be excellent for my camera. Don't know if i would trust it with a video camera!! It's very easy to use and user friendly. Would recommend it to future buyers.

Great tripod

Strengths: Sturdy, Very extendible, 3way tilting. Easy to use. Light for its capabilities.

Weakness: Not compact as alternate options

When I purchased my video camera from a major electronics retailer it came with a free, no name brand tripod. I never realized how much junk there is out there. That tripod started falling apart. I decided to buy this Slik tripod. I had borrowed this model of Slik tripod before on a trip to Japan. On that trip I took hundreds of pictures and extensively used the tripod. I would recommend this model to anyone wanted a reasonably priced, but good quality tripod.

Awesome Tripod for Awesome Price!

Strengths: Full-featured, Inexpensive, Quick setup

Weakness: Level in bad location, No case or strap

I'm really happy I found this tripod. It's full-featured and allows you to hold the camera steady at pretty much any angle and orientation other than straight down. Everything moves smoothly. The knobs take a few minutes to get used to, but you get the hang of it quickly. It's also quick to set up. The only thing that really bothers me is the level is on the base of the tripod, which means that you don't have a level for the camera itself. Instead, you can only tell that the tripod is level. Levels that fit on the accessory shoe are ridiculously expensive, too--around the price of this tripod! The other thing that is unfortunate is the lack of a carrying case or strap. Let me tell you: it's difficult walking around with this thing and don't even get me started on my experience climbing ladders with this thing. However, the case is another $15, which is a rip off. Instead, I'm going to try to find a leftover strap I can slap on this thing.

Best among the price range

Strengths: Price Ability to changing tripod feet leveling Bubble Light weight Use with VDO and digital/film camera

Weakness: Adjusting tripod head can be slow. Does not come with carrying case

It has a very good price for it's range. Light weight of this tripod enable its users to carry it around with least afford. It can be used with VDO or digital/film camera. The problems of this tripod include stability with heavy camera. There are at least three knobs to turn before moving the camera to desire position.

Nice Tripod at this price range

Strengths: sturdy for this price, light weight, compace, fluid motion, air bubble

Weakness: some plastic part, only one quick release plate, accessories too expensive(second plate, carrying case)

Before I bought this tripod, I did some research. My other candidates were Sunpak 8001UT, Slik U8000, Slik SDV-20. Those others were slightly cheaper. After reading other's reviews, finally I chose this one. Because you just do not want your tripod to fail you. And your camera is more expensive than the few bucks you would save on the tripod. I like the fact that it is light weight and in the same time heavy duty. The motion is fluid (it should be better than the other tripods I just mentioned). The only thing I am dissapointed at is that the accessories are expensive, $15 for a carrying case is rip off.
Tripod is very useful when you travel with your family, it will help you record the happy time together.

Not a best one, but a good one.

Strengths: Much cheaper than Manfrotto/Bogen stuff, much stronger than those very cheap ones (such as the ones you can find in Walmart at $20's level). Light-easy to carry everywhere.

Weakness: The quick release shoe need an additional tool (a quarter...) to connect tightly with camera, which is discommodious, but it is still acceptable.

When I tried to find a tripod under $100, I knew that I can only find some good ones, not an excellent one. I tried some excellent tripods of Manfrotto/Bogen brand, they were perfect but too expensive for my budget. When I first saw this U9000 in a local store, I was attracted by it, it is under $80, not excellent, but very good, sturdy enough for my use, light to carry, supports up to 4.4lb. Then, I came home and looked for the best deal online. Finally, it was less than $55 with a case. I was very happy to get this good tripod at this price level. And I think it will bring me more fun.
But, there is still a problem about this tripod, you need an additional tool to connect the quick release shoe with the camera, so maybe I should remember taking a quarter whenever I want to use it.

Slik U9000

Strengths: Affordable, Lightweight, Stable, Quality

Weakness: Instead of being hand tightenable, the quick release shoe requires a screwdriver or coin to fasten the camera on. Another thing is that it does not have a locking screw to hold the legs in or out.

Other than the two above mentioned things, which happen to be fairly minor, the Slik U9000 is a very versatile and all round good tripod for any light to medium weight camera, or camcorder as i have found out. I would recommend it for these reasons to anyone looking for an affordable stabilization system.

Slik U9000 Tripod

Strengths: Light weight. Worth to buy.

Weakness: Nothing.

I love it. I'm not hesitate to carry it everywhere because of it's light weight. the leg can be released easily. It help me save a lot of energy and time straight it out and slide it back. Three way direction help me catch up in every angle. lock release is very firm.
