Strengths: on the original website everything looked fantastic before I bought this card
Weakness: Compatibility, stability, installability, realiability
Since I have bought this card I have had nothing but problems. I bought the card for around $ 1,250 and have spent at least twice as much for getting the systems which complied to the compatibility diagram. The card never worked. Could not play in any DV. When I succeeded to get some footage into Premiere, the system locked itself up and I had to restart and lost everything I had just done.
I think it is a lousy product and I do not understand how Matrox could have ever come out with such a product.
My advice is to think twice before considering buying Matrox video cards.

Matrox RT2000 Realtime DV Editing System
Strengths: have not see !
Weakness: very bad compatibility to many of PCs
We had been bought Matrox RT2000 last year, but it seems like never work. We had been tried to install it in Window 98 ,Windows 2000, and even though Windows XP, it is either absolutely cannot start to capture or system hang when we tried to save a captured file.
We have a enough powerful computer to run RT2000(4 harddisks with each 30GB spaces and 2 processors) , and we have also the latest Digital Video Camera.
We had been tried to contact with Matrox technical support in Germany, but it was only a message recorder for redirecting us to phone to Canada(the global center of Matrox). we had been spent high telephone fees for contacting Technical Support from Matrox in Canada, we received new instructions which is completely different than the original description book. But it didn't really help, until now we still cannot bring Matrox RT2000 into service.
We had been lost too much time and money with Matrox RT2000, we lost our customers because we failed to produce movie out for them.
We hope that we can finally return this card to Matrox and have a refund.
