3 Star Review GPX 7" LCD Undercabinet TV/Radio

Strengths:

Picture quality is good. Sound is ok for this type of unit. Price is inexpensive ($99 @ K-Mart).

Weaknesses:

Cable hook up in rear of unit. Unit is long, can be problem if trying to mount close to wall. You will need a right angle cable adapter to allow for close mounting. Radio reception is fair.

Posted Dec 18, 2006 - If purchasing this unit consider the depth of the unit. As mentioned the cable connection can be a problem if trying to mount as close to the wall as possible (trying to reduce the distance it sticks out from cabinet). There is a chance of breaking the cable connector off as I did (prior to getting the right angle connector). Radio reception is fair to good for my area. It does have a problem picking up local stations occasionally. We tried a Polaroid before and it did not receive any radio stations (returned that one). Hope this helps.

4 Star Review GPX 7

Strengths:

Very reasonably priced, great picture, excellent screen manuverability, nice sleek appearance, screen tucks away nicely when not in use.Clock feature is bright and easy to read.Speakers sound good with tv.

Weaknesses:

TV cable jack is to close to wall, should have 90degree adapter supplied with unit for tight fit install.Radio reception on a scale from 1-10 I would rate a 5.Disappointed that it dont have a cd player

Posted Dec 28, 2006 - Overall a good product for the price.Really like the apperance and quality of the picture. This unit fits great under almost any cabinet and has the versitilaty of being viewed from anywhere in the room simply buy rotating the screen to a viewable position.I found it for a great price at Shopko for $89.99.

1 Star Review Still waiting for one that works

Strengths:

It's the only reasonably-priced under-cabinet TV I can find.

Weaknesses:

Doesn't work :/ , too deep.

Posted Feb 24, 2007 - Bought one from Heartland America for $89 and it was defective right out of the box, no reception on cable, had to ship it back - ETA is 2 weeks to wait for the return label to show up :/ . It will probably be a month before I have a working TV. Cox cable rep that attempted to install it commented that he'd had another customer with the same unit have the same problem, and another customer that had to fiddle with it for days to get it to work. Had to buy a right-angle adapter from Radio Shack to compensate for the design flaw in the mounting position of the coax connector on the back of the unit... GPX needs to redesign it so it points out the side or points down, and they need to redesign the housing so it is not so deep that it sticks out 2-3 inches from the front of the cabinet (wider or thicker would be better than deeper). Picture that shows the front of the unit flush with the front of the cabinet is pure fiction. Unit housing sticks the front from under the cabinet 2-3 inches in the average home with a standard-depth cabinet... to make it not look ridiculous the back of the unit has to be flush against the wall, thus the connector problem.

1 Star Review Don't waste your money

Strengths:

It's cheap

Weaknesses:

You get what you pay for.

Posted Aug 30, 2007 - We bought it a year ago... Home Depot had them on sale for $100 and it looked like a good deal. It took us a long time to getting around to installing it. Initially everything was ok, but after 1 week of use (and we only used it about an hour a day)... The screen would go completely white after turning it on. Sounds like this one could use a re-design!!
