Discussion of Sony ICF-DVD57TV Under Cabinet LCD-TV DVD/CD Clock Radio

Posted Dec 27, 2006 - We have two other Sony televisions and have always been very pleased with their performance. So we were very happy when we saw that they made one for under the cabinet for kitchen placement. Unfortunately, we have had to return it because we were unable to mount it -- yes, the TV is the same depth as a cabinet but, that leaves no room at the back to plug in the cable, etc. In order to do that, then the TV sticks out about 2-3 inches in front of the cabinet. Not a big deal if the screw mounting placements were in a different spot, but being at the front of the unit, this puts the two front mounting holes out in front of the cabinet with nothing to screw into. The only way we could possibly mount it, would be to attach it to another piece of wood and then mount that to our cabinet. Not a good plan. Sony needs to go back to the drawing board and place the mounting holes towards the back of the unit. We are so disappointed. We were really looking forward to having this neat little unit in our kitchen.
