I recommend buying the retail box versions for their excellent booklet that comes with the product unless you are experienced with the Norton product you purchase, but everyone should try the free trials at symantec.com first - thats what they are there for - so you will know what you want. Oh, and that booklet - will cover ANY problem you may encounter if your system is running properly to begin with. The user with the complaints should look for other problems in his computer or just go to the new McAfee VS 8 where they will really find somethin

f131 - (April 07, 2004) Save your money and avoid this product. I have not been able to sucesssfully duplicate one game yet. According to the box it will do all these wonderful things with a lifetime supply of upgrades, but with the most current version, (as of 3/04) games a year old will not copy successfully.

AlexanderAkulick - (November 03, 2003) To my disgust McAfee had discontinued the VS 7 Pro's support so rather than use their sickening new online version I have returned to Norton to find software that meets my needs and NORTON HAS IT. I got mine for $69 at the Norton website. Their 15 day free trials further convinced me to purchase the Norton SystemWorks PRO 2004 which by the way has better and more utilities than the old or new McAfee VS Professional. bloodmango - (06/11/2009) This software has been working OK for me since it is simply an anti-virus scan software. The software does not come with firewall protection or spam/spy removal. The price was reasonable. Be aware that your system will be a little slower than normal upon installation.

bloodmango - (06/11/2009) This ghost version really helped me out backing up my system. It was able to recover 100% of my system during a system crash. The software was easy to install and to use. It does its job automatically. I would recommend this one.

dserphillips - (06/11/2009) Product now exhibits better feedback when performing Live Update. Rather than just saying "Processing", it now provides progress (not a bar) with current and totals in KBs/MBs.
