Never Again

Started Dec 3, 2007

Strengths: Heats the water and has lots of settings and options.

Weaknesses: Doesn't spray well, if at all. Heavy. Takes at least 5 screws to remove the brushes for cleaning. Hard to rinse out the return tank with the other bag inside it.

I saved for almost 2 years for this machine and I am SO disappointed. When it is working, it does the job. But it hardly ever works right. I have had several calls with the company without any result. For a product that only gets used a few times a year for deep cleaning, it should work and last a whole lot better than this. I will never buy another Bissell again. Could have had a better machine if I had bought another brand for a LOT less money. What a waste. 2 years old, used 5 times and the company will not stand behind it.

Thanks for the honest review. I have a Bissell that I bought 6yrs ago. I used it on average 2x per year in 2 rooms, so not a lot. I had to have a hose replaced a year ago because it deteriorated and dumped all the water onto my carpet and would not vacuum up so I had to use a Hoover floor cleaner for that. The cost was $65. I was told the hoses from the factory won't hold up to chemical residues that remain and sit in the hose even when it is cleaned after each use.

Last night I needed to use it and the sprayers won't work. The pump is running but the sprayers won't so it is sitting by the trash can and I'm looking of for something new. As you said, when it worked it was a life saver but when it didn't it made life messy! Now off to look at Hoover......

Sorry to hear the Bissell was such a disappointment. I was really hoping to find a replacement for my Hoover SteamVac which failed miserably. So, don't buy a Hoover SteamVac either. When it did work it was only fair. I used it only a few times before the pump failed. Worse yet, the part is discontinued because Hoover admitted the machine wasn't worth supporting. Basically, TOUGH LUCK to their customers. NEVER AGAIN will I buy a Hoover anything. Now.... what's left
