Good suction, filter renewal mode, well balanced
Short battery life, no powered brush accessory
Posted Jun 7, 2005 - Got this for my wife for mother's day (she actually asked for it!). We compared this model versus a similarly priced Shark model with a powered rotary brush. Although I felt that the Shark's brush did a better job of lifting pet hair off the couches, my wife liked the lighter weight and better balance of this model. The B&D also has a rotary dial to rotate the filter without taking the cowl off the vacuum. This helps distribute the dirt/dust around the filter and decreases the need to clean the filter. The battery life is a bit short, but it gets the job done. The manual says not to leave the vacuum on the charger, so that complicates keeping the battery at a usable level. Although the B&D didn't include the rotary brush, it still did an acceptable job on pet hair.
